Xbox One or Playstation 4?

  1. 1. Based on what we know, which console are you looking to purchase?

So now that we have some more information on each console, like pricing, games etc. Which console are you likely to buy? I'm not including the Wii U as it's already been released.

I'm going with the Xbox myself. Although it's becomming harder to justify my decision, I'm a massive Forza fan, and I like the TV aspects of the console. The price was a bitter pill to swallow though :s

At the moment it is both that are pre-ordered.

I'm not biased to either company like some. I love gaming and that's all i care about. Been playing games probably near on 23 years now.

I want the best of both worlds and both consoles will give me great gaming experiences. It's the exclusives that make me not want to stick to one console.

Neowin is very pro Microsoft and this poll will eventually reflect. Check out Neogaf, Reddit, IGN etc. to gauge how people really feel. So far it is overwhelmingly PS4.

Here is the IGN poll. A few thousand people voted.

It's all down to personal choice

The way I see it is this...

Pure games console: PS4

Cheaper

Games console with extra stuff: XBOX One

More expensive, but does come with Kinect

so if you want the TV functionality, and like playing games with your family such as Kinect Sports...and think the extra ?80 is worth it then get the xbox

Love my Xbox 360 (and before that Xbox). Used to have a playstation one back in the day.

Microsoft's new offer, is very disappointing. Not interested in TV aspect, given we have three 360s in the house, none of which are in the living room. The DRM malarkey will stop us sharing games between ourselves. The connect once a day is bad, given one of the rooms has no net access, it is at the back of the extension and can't pick up the wireless. So unless we hard wire the net upstairs, it doesn't seem likely the Microsoft will get a sale there.

So at the moment, if I had to buy one on release day, it would be a PS4.

Regardless, I personally, won't be buying either until the price goes below ?200.

PS4 for me. I hate this new Microsoft who has picked up a terrible habit of shoving things they like down our throat.

Sony on the other hand has evolved into slightly less evil compared to past few years. Sony going against their usual DRM stance is very surprising. (Yes DRM of some sorts would be present on discs, that's a given but I don't want CIA and Indian Govt staring at my awkward Kinect movements.) What if I want to play naked? I also have sold 90% of my games at 60-70% of their original price to fund for newer games. Can't do that with Xbox One.

Sony wins this round of Console war.... by a fair margin.

Sony seems to have learnt some lessons this gen and doesn't seem to be intent on repeating past mistakes.

I might eventually get an Xbox, but it will probably be years after I buy my PS4. Essentially the same thing I did this gen.

I "may" eventually get an Xbox One for Forza and their overall better selection of games but I am having serious thoughts to skip this generation of consoles. Sony products are so unreliable (nice way of saying junk) and Microsoft with the Xbox One just laid an egg.

Microsoft let Sony off the hook when they had them on the ropes.

Neither. I don't see any reason why I would buy either this year. Destiny is the only game that interests me and it's on Xbox 360 as well.

I may eventually cough up for Halo but after my disappointment with Halo 4, that's not guaranteed either.

and lot of pre-emptive "but this is neowin" sony defense in this thread. (and poll clearly proves all of them wrong, as of this post)

The MS DRM policies are a joke and I cannot go away from region free after the PS3.

Why pretend that you were going to buy Xbox? DRM or not, price or not - you bought PS3 at launch. That says everything.

I don't see much Sony has right now, probably more in 2014 from them so I can hold off on a PS4 till later, maybe Feb-March of 2014. The Xbox One has more titles coming from the start so I'll get that first as a holiday gift.

    • Lol are you mad because I'm not using AI? I'd rather pay people than lose a bunch of potential customers and get humilated because I used AI. A lot of people won't purchase a game if it used AI during development.
