Jackalo
Running : RedHat 7.2 I'm connecting to my Linux box from Putty running under XP, and was just wondering how to get the X11 forwarding working. Whenever I type 'display' under an SSH connection to my Linux box, it tells me "X connection to localhost.localdomain:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)." I was wondering how I might get the forwarding working, as the X-Term is a bit difficult to work with for me.
Jackalo
Ok, new message. Xlib: connection to "localhost.localdomain:10.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server display: Unable to connect to X server (localhost.localdomain:10.0). Anyone know how I can go about setting it up? Putty's URL : http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
MxxCon
are you sure you can do that? i always thought that X11 forwarding will work only on other linux machines becuase forwarding sends gtk or whatever X api calls and i'm sure MS-Win does not understand those. i could be wrong.. Jackalo
There are X Servers out there for Windows. Two of them being X-Win32 and Exceed, the only problem is that these are commercial software. I need a freebie solution.
