A 50 GB install from what I hear. Man, that uncompressed audio!

Man games on 360 started put being 2-3 GB in size and after a year or so they were complaining about the constricting size of DVDs. This gen games are starting put already filling dual layer blurays. Wonder if bluray space will become an issue this gen?

Can the XO and PS4 use those 100gb disks we read about?

How does the campaign work?  Since the game is all online is it just scripted MP with set goals, or just players verses AI in a MP map?

It's just the multiplayer modes, sprinkled with cutscenes in between giving you a little bit of a story. You do 9 maps as Militia, 9 maps as IMC. You play domination and attrition.

Titanfall is beyond awesome!! This game gets a 10/10 from me. Just finished playing now before bed. Finished both campaigns, and have been playing multiplayer matches the rest of the time. Solid as can be. This game is SICK. Jesus was it worth the wait AND hype, indeed.

Yeah, 35-36 GB of the total is uncompressed audio files. I believe one of the devs said they didn't want users PCs having to deal with compressed audio files so they could free up more memory and processor time for everything else. Cuz you know, PCs haven't been able to use mp3's or ogg's for years because it's just to CPU intensive a thing...

Also this is only on PC. The Xbone version is 18 GB I believe I read.

well then, they must know what they're doing; after all, all the other developers that made successful games with big ass textures, sounds and more assets and not even reached that number must be wrong, right?

**** that's why my PC is lagging everytime i'm listening to music ...

Overall, I'm enjoying the hell out of this game. Still trying to figure out various weapons and whatnot but that will come. Game runs great on my set up.

My only tiny complaint is I would have liked in-game friends list. Have to pop out to Origin every time you want to invite a friend or even see who's online. Plus, I can't get Origin to pop-up in-game with the shortcut (Shift+F1). To me, this is clearly a console design as I'm sure Xbox lets you do this pretty damn easily from a system level.

If anyone wants to add me, skywalkerRCP on Origin. Lets play!

I got to play it for about 90 minutes tonight thanks to my wife being cool, and I just went into it with a totally open mind and really enjoyed the hell out of it.

My main reservation is simply the fact the only MP game I have really played in the last 2, maybe even 3 years, is Battlefield. I have not really played a COD in years. Same with Halo. I played Killzone Shadow Fall for about 15 minutes online. I just have not really played competitive MP in a long time so I had my reservations about just not being able to really stay competitive in the genre anymore.

So I must swallow my pride and fully admit the addition of the bots are truly perfect for someone like myself. They allowed me to get in a groove so to speak and even though they were not challenging whatsoever, they helped me relax and just play. I actually believe they made me a better player because they exist.

I also have to admit that Kotaku's article Tips For Playing Titanfall really helped me tremendously as well. It really, really did. I probably would have just approached the game as I would normally approach a MP FPS and simply put that is a huge mistake. Verticality is really so, so damn important to the game. And seriously it is just fun jumping and traversing to high points on the map. That is a game within the game, at least for myself as I enjoyed it so much. The "parkour" element, although done in some other games prior to this one, has never been done in such a smooth fashion especially at such a fast pace, and it really does separate it from other games in the genre. There is no doubt about it.

Pretty much the only criticisms I can give are performance related, and they were not super prevalent, however they were there. The one technical issue I saw was no doubt a result of it being launch day and that was some small spikes in lag. Especially earlier on. It was also not just me, multiple people were saying they were seeing it. Live must have been getting slammed as I actually had a coworker send me a message he could not even get on Live on his One and only could get online with his 360. I know plenty of people here believe I just slam MS to slam MS when that is not the case, I just slam anyone I feel deserves it, so here are those messages from my friend so no one can accuse me of exaggerating or trying to make MS look bad on purpose.

The other technical issue I saw was major frame drops while in a Titan and things got hectic. And I am talking very substantial frame drops, not just single digits for a second or two. Major drops for the duration of the frantic action happening while in a Titan. Hope that was just a result of it being launch and that is just not how the game performs under duration. I am assuming a patch or two can maybe address that issue hopefully.

And really I only share the issues as well as I just prefer to tell the whole story and share both the positive and negatives of my gaming experiences. I cannot stress enough that overall the technical issues did not take away from the experience at all, and even with them my overall impression is primarily positive.

It is just a fun game. The verticality it brings is a game within itself imho. While I thought the bots would be stupid they are not, and they actually serve a great purpose. I can safely say this will not be the only game I play for the upcoming months as I do still prefer a good SP experience. But I will play it here and there and enjoy doing so.

At least you cleaned your plate, Larry - and feathers and all, too.

Remember, I was not expecting the beta to be as solid as it was - in fact, given all previous *mech* games, I expected a hefty dose of *meh*.

I said before that it turned out I was wrong - absatively posilutely wrong.  Now I just gotta wait and save up the funds to BUY this game.

I'm really hoping for a demo of this so I can see how this runs on my older Intel Core2Quad Q6600 and my newer AMD video card...  I can play most newer FPS games without any problem, but this is next gen.

I ran the beta on the same Q6600 I have today, and with a GTX550Ti, and managed 720p easily.  I will need ONE upgrade for 1080p - amusingly, the CPU is NOT it.  (Even more surprising, the hard drive isn't it, either.)

Merely going up to a GTX750Ti - remember, lower power requirements AND a smaller memory bus than my GTX550Ti - should be enough.

That is what realistic and SANE requirements and design of a PC game gets you.

To put Titanfall in perspective, it has lower system requirements than either of the last TWO versions of either CoD or Battlefield - and that is despite it being x64-only.

I'm waiting for the first Twitch streams from portable PCs -  there are plenty of YouTube 1080p videos up from just today.

This isn't Crysis, people.

Please - HDDs are still cheap, cheap, CHEAP.  You would no more put games on an SSD than you would a bunch of video files - you park those porky files on the largest HDD your PC can swallow and you can afford.  (Look up HDD pricing at your retailer or e-tailer of choice - they are how much for 1 TB drives?)

Got bored alrady :D

Same here. Played around 4 hours last night. Don't even feel any urge to play tonight. My addictive personality would like to unlock some more stuff, but the actual gameplay is very boring imo. If I want twitch fps Id rather play Quake. Still I feel the exact same about all COD games after Modern Warfare so I guess there's millions of people that will love this game for months.

It may be on new consoles but it's still only useing the source engine which is older than your cpu. I wouldn't really consider Titanfall to be a next gen game to be honest. Your Q6600 should do just fine.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets big bug-fixing and balancing update by Taras Buria Today, Playground Games released a big Forza Horizon 6 update with a long list of fixes, patches, and balancing tweaks that the studio promised earlier. Version 375.327 is now available on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox, offering users improvements for AI, audio, design, performance, road discovery, upgrades, visuals, online play, and more. Some of the most notable changes in the Series 2 update include rebalanced drivatars, particularly their difficulty and race start behavior. As such, the game should be more balanced on higher difficulty levels, and AI cars should not shoot out when the race starts as if they have rocket boosters. Speaking of difficulty, developers nerfed Drag Tires physics for a more expected and realistic behavior. They are no longer the go-to option for record-breaking times in road racing, and all leaderboard entries with drag tires will be removed. Completionists will also be glad to get a new feature that lets you see road discovery percentage in each region, which should make discovering all roads easier while keeping it quite challenging and interesting (I spent quite a long time finding the last road). Festival Playlist is also getting some much-needed fixes, including patches for bugs that allowed completing Seasonal Jobs ahead of time or where weekly challenges would not unlock for some players. Developers will retroactively give reward points to all who could not complete all challenges due to these bugs. Other changes include changes to Horizon Play progression so that it is easier to reach Level 100, audio improvements on lower-spec devices, fixes for visual glitches, including pixelated smoke, and more. Developers also addressed the currently non-working Eliminator, an online mode gamers used to farm credits with a Hummer EV exploit. Playground Games plans to re-enable it soon. As a gesture of goodwill, players will get a free McLaren Sabre. Those who used the exploit will not be banned, but developers plan to roll back credits to a maximum of 10M for all who farmed credits using the exploit. You can find the complete changelog for the latest Forza Horizon 6 update here.
