I'm saying that, due to the rather hectic nature of the battlefield, it's not that WORTH it to do - even dismounted and on the ground, I've died more often being merely stepped on than being shot by a smartpistol.  (However, that could be because I'm more likely to get rock-throwing-close to enemy Titans so I can whack them with anti-Titan weapons - the closeness does tend to screw with smartweapon locks; the minus is, of course, that I am extremely vulnerable to squishing.)

You should be spending very little time on the ground. The gave us wall running for a reason...it's to avoid being stepped on by titans.

You can't stop on a wall - you have to keep moving if you are walljumping.  If you're a pilot, to target a Titan with your anti-Titan weapon, you need a flat surface to fire from (atop a building or on the ground, or on the Titan itself).  If you try to STOP running while on a wall, you'll slide to the ground, and STILL be in danger from squishing.  I'll take the squish danger as opposed to making it easier on the smartgunners, thank you very much.

Actually you can stop on walls. It's called wall hanging. I didn't even know this until yesterday. Simply jump on a wall (assuming you are using m&k) and right click and hold, you'll stay stuck to the wall for a while or until you let go of the button. The perk that improves your wall running that I forget what it's called increase the duration.

Anyhow that doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't be running around on the ground very much to worry about being run over by titans. You can pull off some pretty impressive maneuvers.

I might pick it up for $10 off on the PC. Played around with the beta on the PC and it's been fun. Not sure if it will hold my attention like BF4 does, but I think it's fun enough and a nice, mostly mindless diversion from the other games I play.

I wonder if the campaign multiplayer mode that will come with the final game would be a sufficient substitute for a standard single player campaign.

I would think this would have to be in the back or front of Respawn minds.  I would think that this game will have to be loaded w/content to make up for not having a SP campaign to it.

I'm talking weapons galore, maps galore (15-20 minimum), and something new with gameplay.

And on of the future updates should allow for 10v10 and 15v15.  While playing the beta, I've notice a lot of "emptiness" as far as players go.  There aren't grunts populating the maps...

I really like this game, I don't make top 3 a lot but the game is that enjoyable I don't care. :D

When its on offer for ~?20 I'll be picking it up for sure! :)

You can actually buy it from cdkeys.com for ?24.69 for a key with the pre-order DLC (whatever that is). EDIT: That is for PC though, I don't know what platform you've been playing on!

I've quite enjoyed it really. I didn't believe the hype for it because I just thought it looked like Call of Duty with mechs, and I thought it would be horribly unbalanced with the Titans, but it really isn't. They're not underpowered, but they don't appear to be too powerful; just right.

It's something different and, most importantly, it's fun. A bit of me wishes though that the AI was a little less useless...

I had no desire to get this, but any beta I'm offered, I give it a test run. I'm addicted. So far, its an outstanding game and very fun to play. If they cheaters stay away and don't ruin it like they do Call of Duty, I think it'll be a very successful game if not series.

Cheers for that! :) That's an acceptable price for me.

Anyone know what the actual level cap will be? Maxing out at 14 in under 4 hours seemed pretty quick so I hope its triple digits! :P

There are already hackers on the PC version. Being Source based, it's not exactly hard to find hacks I imagine. Anyways, there is a speed hack for the game already, and supposedly some sort of XP/client hack to max you out right off the bat (note, I haven't seen proof of this one, just the speed hack).

The Beta was fun, but as noted, limited. While I don't anticipate the single player campaign to be anything as long as say Half-Life, having it will likely put the context (and more locations/maps) up for multiplayer.

It's a multiplayer campaign deal unfortunately. After seeing an IGN video about the art book and hearing more about the Lore, this game really does deserve a proper singe-player campaign.

    • Salesforce to acquire Fin, formerly Intercom, for over $3 billion by David Uzondu Image via DepositPhotos.com Salesforce today announced that it has reached an agreement with customer support software company Fin to buy the company for around $3.6 billion. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, and the acquisition will not change its financial guidance previously announced on May 27. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, in its press release, claimed that acquiring the startup gives Salesforce an immediate AI agent that resolves support tickets across email, WhatsApp, SMS, and Slack: You might know Fin by its former name, Intercom. If you have ever been on a website or inside a mobile app and noticed a little chat bubble widget floating in the bottom right corner of your screen, often featuring a friendly face and a message like, "Hi! How can we help you today?" you were almost certainly looking at Intercom. Intercom became Fin just last month, transforming itself into an "AI-first" platform that handles customer issues with little need for humans to intervene. The new name originates from the company's highly successful AI customer service agent, which it launched way back in 2023. This digital assistant supposedly resolves about 76% of customer service volume end-to-end on its own, so the business rebranded to match its primary software tool. Fin's new owners, Salesforce, went on an acquisition spree over the last few years, and some of them you might recognize, like its 2020 $27.7 Billion acquisition of Slack. The last few months saw the enterprise giant buy several startups, including m3ter, Momentum, Cimulate, and Contentful. Salesforce said that when the Fin deal pulls through, customers will "deploy AI agents across" various service operations, which will complement Agentforce, the platform that enables businesses to deploy customizable autonomous digital workers.
