The only thing I see is a girl on vacation having a photo taken next to a cardboard version of snoop. That said I have no idea why the school would put any other meaning behind it but that.. There's nothing revealing, sensual or exciting about the photo. It's just some prude retarded person who reads way to much into this. I'd agree this would mean that the school is unjustified making an example out of her without any reason.

So does she have ground for a complaint? Certainly.. Is it worth $2M? Only in America.. The land of 'If you do not like it, sue..'

$2 million? Really? If she can prove that the school used a photo of a known student, and it was set to friends of friends then she has every right to complain, but I don't get why it has to be so much money.

I see people putting stuff on Facebook all the time that with second thought shouldn't be there, people really do lack common sense sometimes.

Well, remember, her lawyer needs a cut of the profits. :p

I don't see this going anywhere as long as the school official didn't deliberately go to her facebook knowing that she was a former student to get the picture. Any other non-fb source is fair game as it tends to be more anonymous. Not that hard for one of her friends download and re-up that image to any one of the numerous tumblr blogs which hot bikini pics.

According to the OP getting potentially embarrassing pictures of current studens for his "class" was the whole point. Not getting permission to use her image in a public forum was also a mistake, just ask any photographer / videographer about the release forms they have to get signed.

The guy's a total tool.

It wasn't posted publicly... If you read, it said she had it set for friends of friends.

Actually, what I read is that she thought only friends (and their friends) could see it.  Quite likely that she doesn't know how Facebook privacy works and hadn't changed any of her settings, just assuming it was only her friends.  Obviously the school was able to see it.

From another article on the same subject:

Although Chelsea Chaney admits uploading the picture to Facebook, she has claimed that she only thought friends and family could access her profile and not strangers.

Ironically, however, her reaction does seem to prove the point the Fayette County School was trying to achieve about Internet safety.

On the other hand, her admission does seem quite a common thing for many Facebook users to say, as shown in The Inquisitr?s article asking how you can stay safe when using the site.

Whilst I do agree she's probably milking it, people need to stop assuming that being posted on Facebook makes someone's property ripe for being reproduced without their permission. This "slut shaming" thing is also very archaic, join the 21st century please folks.
