Ellen DeGeneres announced today on Twitter that she will host The Oscars on March 2nd:

 

"It's official: I'm hosting the #Oscars! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra."

 

It will be her second time to host The Oscars having previously hosted the 79th Annual Academy Awards in 2007.

Good; Seth MacFarlane's version of the Oscars was just painful to watch.

I enjoyed Seth MacFarlane.  First time I watched the Oscars in years.  Ellen should be a pretty excellent host as well so I may be watching it again.
