Christian Bale Reportedly Offered $50 Million To Reprise Batman

So did he change the awful acting from "Dark Knight"? The growling was obnoxious.

That's way to early to tell since nothing is confirmed nor is there a script yet.

His growling was actually computer modified :/  You'd have to see a version with "no effects" to understand.

I want new actors for a new "universe".

One of my biggest gripes with Man of Steel was it's supposed to take place in the Justice League universe- where there are a LOT of other superheroes around- but when the world itself is getting destroyed, none of them bother to show up. They'll need a damn good explanation for that... Which I can't see using the current Batman or Green Lantern movies.

Kinda like Bane's voice. His original voice sounded better for the film because I constantly could hear it was coming from my speakers instead of his mouth, if you know what I mean? It didn't sound as if the voice came through his mask.

But they didn't start being superheroes on the exact same day. Plus, they could say that Green Lantern was off-planet while dealing with Lantern stuff. Batman could've been dealing with his own stuff in Gotham as well. It happens a lot in the comics as well where you'd expect them to help each other out. But because it's their own story, they have to prevail on their own.

Yeah Bane's voice was creepy

Boy, I hope he takes it because he was the best Wayne/Batman ever. Nobody will ever top him. Plus turning down $50,000,000 is just plain stupid, artist or not lol.

Yeah, I mean it sounded great but you could just hear it was recorded in a studio.

Yeah I understood, most of the time it wasn't perfectly synced, but i'm guessing since you couldn't see mouth movements they deemed it alright ?

I believe it was synced, it's just that his voice wasn't in the environment like everybody elses. Just look up "Banes original voice" on YouTube. He says things in a creepier way when they recorded in the studio.

Not sure how to explain it besides saying that his voice wasn't in the environment though :p Of course they had to record it in the studio since the original wasn't easy to understand at times.

To be honest some movies just get milked for too long. I have never been a massive fan of Batman and haven't even seen the third movie... Yet. I don't know his reasons but if its because he wants to quit while he is ahead, I hope he sticks to his guns and turns down any ridiculous sums of money on principal, I'd have a lot more respect for him if he did (not that I have a lack of respect anyway).

Well, i'd throw my principes down for 50million + marketing earnings :P

I would too, but I think the difference is, I doubt neither one of us have the kind of money he does.

IMO if he was to sacrifice his own principles for money it says something about him as a person and the media will slate him for that. The next problem is that eventually the batman franchise in its current form will flop and when it does it will take his reputation with it.

He could get away with 50 million dollar cheques for another 3 movies, but does he want to risk the rest of his career for something like this? I honestly think if he does, and it does dive it will be the last we ever see of him in a AAA title.

What principles? The guy was in a Batman movie, hardly something that will leave a mark in society. It's not like he came up with the cure for cancer and is now selling it to the highest bidder. There's simply no reason to refuse this kind of money, other than being physically and mentally torn out by it to the level of feeling your well being is in danger. And he can do incredibly great stuff with that amount of money (pursue his passion projects, help people out, make sure his future/offspring is financially secure, blah blah blah).

If the rumors are actually true, ultimately the decision's on him, but I think no one has the right to judge him if he decides to take up the role again. People have done worse things for less money. Not to mention he was great as Bruce/Batman.

What principles?  Don't believe that his so-called decision to not do any more films is anything beyond part of the Hollywood game!

I was under the impression that he decided not to do anymore because he wanted something new and didn't want to milk the franchise dry sort of, quit while he was ahead.

maybe i'm just completely wrong on that!

That's what he said, what we're discussing is that him "bending" his previous statements isn't the end of the world, especially if the rumored amount of money is true.

Well if that is the case then what I stand by what I said. Him "bending his previous statements" imo is going against his own principles for money, especially when it comes from someone who is worth millions of dollars anyway!

I think for the general public, depending on what it was you could maybe forgive them, but this guy could probably retire now and live very well for the rest of his life. In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter, it's just a movie but I like to see people stand by what they say and not be bought out by a pile of cash, especially when no-one is trying to buy me out!

After working with McG on Terminator, I don't think he would fall for working with another hack, Snyder.

Dark Knight Rises was pretty poor, Bale would be wise to continue leaving Batman in the past. It won't reach great heights any time soon.

Whether Christian Bale has or has not been offered $50 million to reprise his role as Batman in Man of Steel 2 remains a mystery. (He probably hasn?t.) But with the suit officially unoccupied ? as of now? the race is on to find a new Batman. But one name you can probably cross off your list? Castle star and generally geek-loved actor Nathan Fillion.

?I wonder if my throat could take it,? he said, joking that he doesn?t believe he has the vocal stamina to mimic Batman?s gravelly voice. ?I think I?d make an excellent Bruce Wayne; I think I?d make a terrible Batman.?

Fillion, who is no stranger to superheroes and recently voiced the Green Lantern in the straight-to-DVD animated movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, adds that he has not been approached in any way about the role. He also cautions fans who are currently stumping for certain actors to get the part ? even those stumping for him. ?If you wanted to see a particular person as Batman, I think one of the worst things you could do is shove it down someone?s throat as far as the new director of Batman or the new producers of Batman,? he says. ?Probably the worst thing you could do if there?s someone you want to be Batman is sort of rally.?

Batman or not, Fillion will soon (finally!) be back on the small screen when Castle returns Sept. 23 on ABC. For more on the show?s return, pick up EW?s Fall TV preview issue, out next month.

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room. At $149.99, this is a strong Prime Day buy for anyone already in the Amazon ecosystem or looking to build one out. • Dang that sucks. I just started using this feature instead of Pushbullet.
    • I use my devices until the very end. I used my old desktop computer for 16 years, my OnePlus 5T phone for 8 years and my LG Gram laptop for 7 years. Even though they are still working, there are no more security updates for most of them (Windows 7 ESU, Android 12 ROM and the LG Gram because I wanted an ARM based laptop).
