Once you go iOS 7, you never go back

Recommended Posts

I like the control panel. It feels like something from Android but with an Apple flavor. Not too crazy about the colors used on the icons, but I do like the flatter look overall.

Hopefully Windows Phone will add a quick access control panel too in GDR9.

I began using iOS 7 since Beta 1, and for the first 2-3 Betas, I wasn't convinced. I'd install it, and remove it after a few days. But once the OS began to mature and get smoother to use, it began to grow on me. Next thing I knew, I was running it as my every day version of iOS without even noticing it.

Now that I have my 5s, it's not like I can go back, but I don't care to. I love it!

Didn't know people really actually used the stock apps. I think i only use the mail and imessage apps.

yeah why would people use calendar, contacts, safari, music, phone, reminders....its not like they sync real nice or anything

none of these apps that i use for the core fx of my phone look "good" they're just blank white slates with floating elements different UI buttons and terrible font

Oh come on, it's not that bad.    Some of the new icons are really stupid looking, but overall, the UI is a bit more "interesting" now (if that's the right word for it).  It's kind of like moving from XP to 7.  XP was rock solid, but 7 made it look more modern and organized things better.  That's basically the same way I feel going from iOS 6 to 7.

You're right though, that you probably won't gain anything on your iPad 2.  If anything, you might risk getting worse battery life from the added animations/effects.

So interesting, I bought a Nokia.

iOS 7 is beautiful, there's a lot of emprovements but base on my expercience there is a problem on facebook integration..even if you sign-in already on settings area, it's always asking your facebook password when you open the facebook app. Unlike on iOS 6, it's automatically save the password and easy to sign-in again in just one click.. Thanks..

I personally like the IOS7 look and the new features are great. I also like the updated look for notifications on lock screen, pass lock screen, contacts, safari look, menus and even the updated ios7 apps which now look like they merge into the IOS look.

Downside I've noticed is keyboard sometimes lags on iPad 2 but is fine on iPhone 5, I haven't noticed battery life decrease but have some bugs with apps with aren't yet fully ios7 compatible.

I like the limitless folders now, no need to have 2-3 folders with the same stuff (e.g games, utility apps, etc), the pull-up options so now I can put those icons in a folder, maps has a few new features I'm already using, automatic app updates is already enabled, facetime audio to save on costs when overseas, the drag search option (which removed the extra useless search screen page), photo menus are more organised and look better, can see apps on double-tap rather than just a icon now, plus many other features. Overall I like it much more than previous versions of IOS and believe it was a much needed update, I was starting to get over the IOS 1-6 look it now seems old and outdated.

actually. once you go ios 7. you _can_ never go back. like it or not.

i like the improved usability (easier to close apps, control center, etc.). the simplified UI elements make more efficient use of valuable screen real estate on iphone. but wish they'd tone down the eye candies. though. my 4s' battery took a small but noticeable hit after the upgrade. i am limiting the animation background to the lock screen for now to see if it's the main culprit.

    • Why say “Retarded” then? Lol
    • If you don't care to read what I said, then you prove my point. Maybe written media is beyond your attention span. Titles are not summaries my friend.
    • Nobody asked... in fact, I said "I don't care about political leanings"
    • TLDR. Here is a far better title (just a basic example): Windows 11 26H2 to allow disabling Web search results
