A quick update: the upcoming retro-designed full frame Nikon camera will not have any video recording capabilities. Here are the updated rumored specifications:

  • Nikon FM2 like design
  • 16.2MP 36x23,9 full frame sensor (same as in the D4?)
  • SD memory card
  • 2016-pixel RGB image sensor
  • 9-cell framing grid display
  • 3D color matrix metering II
  • Native ISO range: 100-12,800 (incl. ISO 50 and ISO 108,200)
  • 5.5 fps for up to 100 shots
  • 3.2" LCD screen
  • Battery:EN-EL14
  • Dimensions: 143.5 x 110 x 66.5mm
  • Weight: 765g
  • It will come with a new AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens (again, not clear what mount the new lens will have)
  • Standard F-mount
  • No video recording capabilities
  • Pentaprism viewfinder (meaning the camera will not be mirrorless)
  • The camera will meter even with non-AI lenses down to full aperture
  • The camera will ship with a new special edition Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G lens to match the look/design of the body
  • The camera will have physical controls and excellent build quality (which explains the 765g weight)
  • Expeed 3 processor
  • Same sensor as in the Nikon D4
  • Nikon calls it a "hybrid" camera - not sure what exactly they mean with that
  • The announcement will be during the first week of November

  • 2 weeks later...

Would love this if it was made from metal, now however it looks to be made from plastic.

Still tis a hipster material :D

Well..  metal will be bit heavy if it has all metal frame and housing...   but it will be less damaged..

The plastic ones will be lightweight and easy to carry in long run, but it will be damaged badly if you drop onto the hard surface such as concrete, hardwood floor.

Maybe metal frame inside with plastic housing body like DSLRs have.

At least the chances of it being stolen will be slimmer, because it really does look like a 40 year old camera

Looks nice, but to be honest I definitely prefer the Olympus OM-D, maybe because the first camera I played with before my SLR was an OM-10. :P

    • I looked into a few echo devices to find they were riddled with adverts over time. No thanks ill stick to my homeassistant, smart plugs, smart bulbs and cameras that don't cost me a monthly fee and are cheaper to buy. No adverts also.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.180 is out.
    • Putin or Farage had nothing to do with me voting out. I did so because I got fed up of the E.U telling us what we could and could not do. Fed up with our country being run by a load of unelected Europrats. We never joined the E.U in the first place.
