1.0 out of 5 stars Radioactive., November 22, 2013
This review is from: Xbox One Console - Day One Edition (Video Game)

Xbox One has made me sick, I think the radiation from the kinect camera has burned a hole through my brain as it scanned my vital statistics.

Buyer beware, I now have to go to hospital to get a diagnosis.

really?? wtf is wrong with people

Given what he posted there, it may be true... :p

Then people with legitimate complaints will have their review buried underneath all this fanboy filth being copy/pasted by trolls.

But don't you think Xbox Fanboy do the samething? i know you not making a argument about this, you just expressing your self. .. sorry for my bad English.

If you havent notice Soney fanboys have problems and would take the time to troll on crap. I read throw the list of reviews on amazon on day 1 and they seem genuine.. For the xbox one release. Clearly 95% of reviews are pure bull and fake.

Well the difference being that I went through every single 1,2 and even 3 star reviews and not a single one is verified buyer.  Yet almsot all the 5 stars are.

When i go through the ps4 reviews its like atleast 25% of the bad reviews are verified

Sure, it would be surprising if they didn't.  The big issue (for me anyway) is the huge difference in how many verified purchases there were.. namely absolutely none for the X1, where a majority of the negative reviews for the PS4 were from people who actually bought the thing.

Yeah actually i took the time to click throiugh the ps4  bad reviews a little deeper and it seems more like 75% are verified lol. Whats even more funnny is it seems like half the 5 stars are not verified.

Amazon should give you a way to see the verfied star rating only or allow ONLY verfied ratings to count

Yeah it was also sent in as a news tip, but I checked all 5 pages and none were verified customers. I'm not surprised this is happening after the genuine reports from last week, but Amazon should make it easier to filter reviews to verified only.

When it comes to console gaming i don't think verified buyer means as much as it usually does. I've seen lot of Sony fanboys getting an XBox and i've seen lot of MS fanboys getting a PS. Even if they own both sides those fans are still willing to do anything to make the other side looks bad.

You'll have to wait some weeks after christmas when Joe Blow will start buying them for a clear picture.

Well this one took the cake:

My apartment exploded, November 22, 2013
This review is from: Xbox One Console - Day One Edition (Video Game)

I'm standing outside on the street, looking up at the smoking remains of where my apartment once was. I don't know how this happened. I woke up to find a UPS box at the door, excited to have finally gotten my xbone one gaming console system. I plugged it in, Kinect recognized me immediately (very cool) didn't have to do anything to set up. Then it started making a funny clicking noise, is this the DVD drive error everyone is talking about? Within a few minutes however, I knew something wasn't right and backed away from the console. Then, it #$%*ing exploded. I was flung out the window, I only survived because I landed on a stack of bricked PS4s on the ground level, which cushioned my fail. Thanks goodness for PS4, saved my life.

Some of the crap like that can give you a brief laugh haha. Still, Amazon should really be on top of stupid reviews.

Anyone giving 1 start to a DOA product is trolling anyway. Verified buyer or not.

I've had 3 DOA products in my life (a video card, one monitor and one 360). The 3 got replaced under the warranty and i would not rate them 1 star for that. One of my ATI card was DOA. ATI replaced it at no cost and the replacement card lasted for until i sold it. I would rate this card (9800pro) 5 stars. The only product i ever owned worthy of a 1 star rating is my Creative X-FI Platinum as it never worked under Vista and Creative did not want to honor the warranty cause in their head the problem was caused by the nForce 4 chipset of my mobo which was not really possible cause the card was working perfectly under xp.

I've had 1 RRoD and one bad HDMI port (DOA) on my 3 XBox 360 and i would still rate the console something between 3.5 and 4 stars.

Some of the crap like that can give you a brief laugh haha. Still, Amazon should really be on top of stupid reviews.

Amazon should accept verified buyers reviews only and should start to accept reviews some days after someone bought the product only. There's no way you can objectively review a product after 1 day of use only. The buyer should be required to try the product for let's say 5 days before reviewing it.

But don't you think Xbox Fanboy do the samething? i know you not making a argument about this, you just expressing your self. .. sorry for my bad English.

because at least 10,000 PS4s were broken by Sony's own admission. There might be some fanboyism involved but PS4 had real problems including PSN meltdown which so far hasn't happened in XBL and reported cases seems to be lower than PS4 (too early to say though given it is just over 24hrs).

Of course there's a problem with the first batch of PS4. But if you are to believe Amazon users reviews up to 40% of the PS4 are DOA. Now it might be the case we will know in a couple of weeks but this number looks high to me as even the RRoD was not that widespread and those were not DOA but broke after some months of use.

Personally i don't care. I'm gonna wait next year and from the look of it i might end up getting a Steam Box. I have a hard time associating myself with either the XBox COD nation or the Sony Poser nation. If i absolutely had to buy a console right now to be honest it would be a Wii U. That new Mario game looks totally crazy.

Anyway i might just be getting to old for all this console gaming crap.

The butthurt is strong in this thread -- from PS4 fanboys who feel the need to troll, from the X1 fanboys who cry about it and point.

This really needed a thread?  Really?

And what's funny is the first 1-star PS4 review I find is from a guy who also 5-starred his X1, neither are confirmed purchases, and in his X1 review he says he passed on buying a PS4.

Stupid, Amazon should disable non-verified purchaser reviews for items that attract fanboys. Almost every 1-star XB1 review (on both the UK and USA Amazon) is from a unverified purchaser, a lot of them read like they're written by the same person too. The majority of 1-star PS4 reviews are verified purchasers from people with genuine problems though.

looks like amazon removed almost all feedback

It's the day-one version that has all the troll reviews - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMQTVK0/ref=twister_B00CMQTVUA?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I tend to stay way from reading reviews that are negative or that sound untruthful. When I look at reviews, I tend to read ones that offer negative and positive things in them. I can tell if reviews are truthful about a product being truly terrible.

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/androids, it's just a matter of time.

Subtitle Edit 5.0.0 changelog: Subtitle Edit 5 is a major new release and a big step for the project. For the first time, Subtitle Edit runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux from a single, modern, cross-platform codebase. The builds are self-contained, so no separate .NET installation is required, and on macOS and Linux the needed media components (mpv/ffmpeg) are bundled in. Please read before upgrading: Subtitle Edit 5 is a new application, not just an update of Subtitle Edit 4. It has been rebuilt from the ground up to be cross-platform, so: It is not 100% the same app. The look, layout, and some workflows have changed. Some things are in different places, and a few behave differently than in SE4. Not every SE4 feature exists in SE5 yet. SE5 covers all the core editing, conversion, sync, video playback, OCR, and online services, but some of the more specialized SE4 tools are not available yet. Features will continue to be added. If you rely on a specific SE4 feature that is missing, please keep SE4 installed alongside SE5. The easiest way to run both side by side is to use the Portable versions of SE4 and SE5, which keep their settings separate and do not interfere with each other. Which version should I use? Subtitle Edit 5: recommended for most users on Windows 10 (22H2) or newer, macOS 12+, and Linux. Subtitle Edit 4: please continue to use SE4 if you are on an older Windows version (Windows 7/8), or on older / slower computers where SE5 may not run well. SE4 remains available and is the right choice in those cases. To run SE4 and SE5 at the same time, use the Portable versions - you can try SE5 while keeping SE4 as a fallback. • Google Pixel 11 series: Here's what to expect by Hamid Ganji Google Pixel 10 series In recent years, Google has successfully turned its Pixel devices into worthy contenders in the smartphone market. The search giant is now preparing to launch the Pixel 11 series in just a few months, and many Pixel fans are likely wondering what Google has in store for them this year. The next lineup of Google smartphones includes four devices: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. This year, we don’t expect Google to bring revolutionary upgrades to its handsets, and the Pixel 11 series is likely to receive modest hardware improvements alongside a slew of AI-powered features. Here are the rumored specifications of the Google Pixel 11 series ahead of its official debut: When will the new Pixel phones be unveiled? The last two generations of Google Pixel phones (Pixel 9 series and Pixel 10 series) were launched in August, unlike the previous three generations that debuted in October. With that in mind, we expect Google to unveil the Pixel 11 series sometime in August 2026. The exact launch date has yet to be confirmed. Google Pixel 11 CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines How much will the Pixel 11 series cost? Predicting the final price of upcoming smartphones has become increasingly difficult. As you may know, RAM and memory prices are rising sharply, leading to significant increases in the cost of consumer electronics. Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that price increases for some future Apple products are unavoidable, suggesting that the iPhone 18 series could become more expensive. Google has remained tight-lipped about any potential price increases for the Pixel 11 series. If the company manages to maintain last year’s pricing structure, here’s what the lineup could cost: Pixel 11: $799 Pixel 11 Pro: $999 Pixel 11 Pro XL: $1,199 Pixel 11 Pro Fold: $1,799 Given current market conditions, it may be difficult for Google to avoid raising prices unless it adopts cost-saving measures, such as equipping the base model with 8GB of RAM. Google Pixel 11 series anticipated specs: We expect the Google Pixel 11 series to debut with a new Tensor G6 processor as well as an upgraded camera system. The overall design, however, is expected to remain largely unchanged across the lineup. However, a patent filed by Google suggests the company is working on a removable battery for its smartphones, and we could see this feature make its way to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Given that nearly all smartphones today lack removable batteries, such a feature would be a welcome addition to future Pixel devices. That said, it may not arrive with this year’s lineup after all, and the final decision is yet to be made by Google. The Pixel 11 series could also face an uphill battle in the market. In the Android segment, Samsung is performing well with the Galaxy S26 series, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup is also expected to launch next month. On the other hand, Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September alongside its first foldable iPhone.
