How to view pictures from my pc, on xbox one

Recommended Posts

If it's  windows 7

There should be a setting under your control panel, on 7 it's network and sharing center

if it's off, you'll need to turn on, (classically it can be done though wmp and wmc also)

look under all networks, to see if there is an xbox, or unknown device trying to connect to it, if unknown check to make sure the mac address listed by windows is the same your xbox, if yes, click allow

No sorry, I meant there's options in both media player and media center to tell your pc to share

my apologies for not being clear on this.

edit

found it, sorry took longer than it should have

Xbox One doesn't support DLNA?

It does support DLNA, but there are currently no apps for the X1 that will display pictures. You can use the 'Play To' functions on a windows pc/tablet/phone to send music or video to the media apps, but I don't think you can view pictures that way.

MS will be rolling out further support for local media playback on your network. Of course, if they allow 3rd party apps on the X1, then we wont have to wait for MS to update their apps, so we will see.
