Hello,

I just started using ADSL a couple of days ago.

It works great and is really fast compared to my 56k connection:>

But I have just 1 problem with it:

I keep on losing connection to my DSLAM in my local exchange.

It takes me 5 minutes to log back onto DSLAM after I lose connection.

I do not know what could be causing the sudden ADSL disconnections.

I use ADSL MicroFilters. I know they work because I have once made a call while playing Counter Strike online without any problems.

I don't think that this is a PC/Modem problem...

have you tried viewing the properties of your login in the control panel under network connections (if 2000 then network and dial-up connections) and looking at the options tab and making sure "idle time before hanging up" is set to never?

Well I did a self-line test before ADSL was activated in my local exchange, and no problems were found. That was 4 days ago.

The "disconnection" problem has been fixed.

Now my problem is: high pings while playing on local CS servers.

e.g: I live in NZ and often play on Paradise.net CS servers.

My ping used to be around 50~150ms, but now its around 100~200ms:( . It doesn't seem to affect gameplay that much, but I would like my ping to be back down to being around 80ms average just like it used to be.

And, Space Guy, No. ADSL was avaliable in my area from early 2001.

    • TotalCommander can use Everything as its search engine, Files should be able too.

    • Sound Booster 1.12 Build 544 by Razvan Serea Increase volume on your laptop. Boost the volume of even very quiet speakers. Raise volume above maximum. Letasoft Sound Booster can be used as an extra amplifier when the volume of the program you are listening to is too low for comfortable listening and you feel that your PC’s speakers can produce a louder sound. This can be the case when the audio or video has been recorded at the level below normal. Or, for example, when the other person’s microphone you are talking to on Skype, is not working properly. There can be a plenty of other reasons why the sound is being too quiet and there is not much you can do about it except buy external speakers. Sound of any application that is being played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can raise volume of programs like web browsers, on-line communication software (Teams, Discord, Zoom), any kind of media player or games. Simply put, volume of virtually any program that can play any sound in PC, can be boosted to a comfortable level with Letasoft Sound Booster. You can control current volume with the pop-up slider from the system tray. Alternatively, you can assign system-wide hot keys for increasing and decreasing, and use them when you need to adjust volume Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors current gain level and prevents samples from clipping, thus reducing all major sound distortions.
