First off...Great List!

Next, here are a few freeware apps that I use regularly that I haven't seen.

RSS Reader - http://www.pluck.com/

Image Manipulation(?) - http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html

Pixie is an easy-to-use, fast and tiny utility designed especially to fit the needs of Webmasters and Designers. Its a colour picker that includes a mouse tracker. Run it, simply point to a colour and it will tell you the hex, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV values of that colour. You can then use these values to reproduce the selected colour in your favorite programs. Pixie will also show the current x y position of your mouse pointer. Its the only tool you'll need for working with colours.

Harddisk Search & Stats

Harddisk Search & Stats is a freeware Search Engine for your harddisk. It enables you to search large numbers of text/ascii-based files simultaneously.

Harddisk Search & Stats can search (inside) text/ascii-based files in all levels of a folder (recursive), or just one level. Also: select files to be searched by file name and/or file type, do not search inside files but just by file name/type.

You can specify as many search terms you want, and there is no limit to the number of file types you can add for searching.

For each search-term entered, the program will display an additional column in the search results. Double-clicking on a file in the search result will open the internal or an external viewer.

More features:

- search by file name and/or file type

- search inside files and/or by file name/type

- filter file types based on extensions

- import file types from a folder

- view/search individual files with the internal or an external viewer

- zero-installation, easy uninstallation

- the program does not write anything into the registry

- run directly from CD-Rom

Installation and use

Harddisk Search & Stats does not need to be installed. Just copy the program files onto your harddisk, double click on the .exe file and the program will start.

License and platforms

Freeware for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP. (Linux version in the make!) This program is freeware for corporate and personal use, so you can run this program in any commercial or non-commercial setting.

A back-up suggestion:

Karen's Replicator ( http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp ):

I have used this for years. It is perfect for synchronizing between drives (and folders on drives). I don't like the idea of backing up my data in some compressed form or really in any form that requires me to have a proprietary program to access it. I have Karen's Replicator set up in my work laptop thus:

1. Daily backups to a Compact Flash card (here, I only back up my current workfiles)

2. Weekly backups to a USB hard drive (here, I back up all of my files)

What I finish up with in both cases is an exact copy of my data. I can take this to other computers without a problem (no need to unzip compressed proprietary backup files, etc.).

Anyway, it's a cool and free tool that I would NEVER do without, so I thought I'd mention it here. :)

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
