In a panel Hamill confirmed that was him in the voiceover.  They mixed his RotJ speech and newly recorded audio and used it in the trailer.

That was my initial thought too, but wasn't the mechanical hand that he got at the end of Empire covered in skin and looked real once it was closed up?
