Seeing it Thursday afternoon here in the UK...  getting extremely hyped now :)

We got our tickets in October, first time I ever did anything like that for a movie. But we've got tickets for 4pm on Thursday. I don't know why it's a day early in the UK from other places but I promise I won't reveal any spoilers. :) I've actually been avoiding reading about it or watching trailers, though I did see the first trailer. I just don't want to know anything before I see it.:woot:

Think our screening might even be a little bit earlier - I don't remember. But yeah, we booked ours several months ago. We're a group of guys in our mid to late 30's all taking half a day off work, to go and watch a movie, like a gaggle of excited kids... not something I imagined I'd be doing any time soon :)

My work bought out an entire showing for their employees.

I've never seen a film create so much hype and anticipation before! This is the first time that I've seen my cinema chain (Cineworld) have so many midnight showings (00:05 on Wednesday). My local one is showing 4 showings (2x 2D, 1x 3D and 1x 3D IMAX (sold out)). The Cineworld in my home town, which is considerably smaller than my current local one is showing on 5x screens (3x 2D (one sold out) and 2x 3D (one sold out).

I can't wait, but I think I might wait until the cinema becomes less busy, then I'll see it in 3D IMAX!

I really feel like a lot of the reviews that will come out will be the fan boys.

And water is still wet.

Thats a given. It's also a good thing because they are also the most critical.

Thursday @ 7!!!  Haven't been this pumped for a movie since Episode I /sigh.  At least from the reviews I've heard/read ... it makes up for the terrible prequels.

Big Star Wars Spoiler below.

So far 97% on rotten with 113 reviews counted.

I enjoyed the film. Not an all-time classic but it lived up to my expectations - definitely worth seeing. My biggest criticism is that it mirrors plot elements from the original trilogy a bit too closely, something I thought worked well for Star Trek Into Darkness because of the alternate timeline but less so for the continuation of the original trilogy.

I'll be seeing it again on Monday.

I'd go 3 hours late to that.

I'd show up on time, and then take a 2 hour intermission 2 hours in. 1 was decent, 2 was garbage.

Of course, the smartest move would be to show up just in time for A New Hope.

meh. not worth the hype at all. The movie could have been edited better :/ . It should have been slower in some places and faster in others. acting is a bit cartoonish . only HF seems handle his character with ease, rest of them were bit over the top. lots of unanswered questions

Mad max is still the movie of the year  afaik.

That sounded ruder than intended. Please take the sarcasm as just that. :)

Mad Max SUCKED!!!!!!!! Worst movie i've seen all year. No plot what so ever.

For me Mad Max: Fury Road was the better film; the plot did exactly what it needed to. There are plenty of movies that have very little in the way of plot but make up for it in other ways - Lost In Translation is a great example of that.

As for pacing, I thought The Force Awakens was fine. It would be nice to see an extended version that has more atmosphere and flavour but the film works as it is. Certainly it wasn't a mess like Man Of Steel.

    • OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT memory by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI is rolling out a major upgrade to ChatGPT's memory, making the system more capable, current, and scalable across long-term use. Memory allows ChatGPT to remember useful details about users, including their preferences, projects, and constraints. Instead of starting every conversation from scratch, ChatGPT can use this context to provide more relevant responses in future chats. OpenAI first launched saved memories in February 2024. That feature allowed users to explicitly ask ChatGPT to save information into its memory, such as travel plans or writing preferences. However, this system had limits because it depended heavily on users giving clear instructions to remember something. Additionally, saved memories could become stale over time. In April 2025, OpenAI expanded memory by allowing ChatGPT to reference past chat context outside the saved memories list. This was powered by a background process called “dreaming,” which automatically curates memories from chat history. This made ChatGPT better at learning from natural conversation without requiring users to manually save every detail. Today, OpenAI announced a more capable and compute-efficient memory architecture built on top of dreaming. This new system improves ChatGPT’s ability to carry forward useful context, follow user preferences, and remain accurate as time passes. According to OpenAI’s internal evaluations, the new system improves factual recall from 67.9% in 2025 to 82.8% in 2026. Preference adherence improves from 55.3% to 71.3%, while accuracy over time improves from 52.2% to 75.1%. The best part of this new system is a new memory summary page where users can review ChatGPT's memories. Users can even update details, correct information, or give instructions on what topics ChatGPT should bring up and when. This new, improved memory system is available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users in the US starting today. It will roll out to more countries, as well as Free and Go users, in the coming weeks.
    • I work for a video production company in Australia. The camera operators shoot footage and then pass the SD card over to the editors. Much easier than handing over the entire camera. Plus, on a busy day you can hand off the SD card and then pop another in for the next shoot. Or, you might have used multiple SD cards because you need the extra space for a long shoot. I also use USB cables and wifi for transferring footage, but in many cases an SD card reader is the easiest method.
