https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/free-games/on-the-house

Will you survive?
Escaping a plane crash alive was the easy part - now things get tricky. Explore a mysterious island and keep your team of eight alive in this survival adventure game, all for free. It’s On The House!

DEAD IN BERMUDA is a survival management game with RPG and adventure elements, in which you lead a team of 8 survivors from a plane crash on a strange island. Assign your survivors to tasks, gain experience and develop your survival skills, research and craft new items for the camp, explore the island for resources and solve the mysteries behind an ancient atlantean prophecy.

Key Features:

  •     Manage the well-being of your team: they can die from Hunger, Fatigue, Sickness, Injury and Depression as well as lack of water.
  •     Relationships between characters evolve! They can argue, become friends and even lovers.
  •     Research & Craft to upgrade your camp.
  •     Deep RPG system running behind the scenes: the efficiency of every action is tied to character skill, opinions and the state of the character.
  •     Exploration: 100 map areas to discover, each with its own rewards… or traps!
  •     Randomized elements: the map, the items, the dialogs, the skills and traits of your characters changes every new game.
  •     Special encounters in the jungle with choose-you-own-adventure like elements.
  •     Easy to play, but hard to survive!

FYI/PSA : Origin no longer accepts prepaid (or debit) cards; they now specifically require credit cards.  (This is likely due to fraud based on them - this has been a problem - not JUST with Origin.)

Expect more services to kick prepaid cards to the curb.

And there business is going to drop, because not everyone has a credit card or is eligible to get one.

EA's fantastic Origin On the House program is no more

It's been "retired".

Wesley Yin-Poole

Deputy Editor

EA has quietly canned the Origin On the House program.

Redditor Mattmo831 noticed the On the House link redirects to Origin Access, and EA followed up to confirm the promotion had been "retired".

"Origin On the House has been retired and games will no longer be offered through the program," EA told PC Gamer. "This change won't affect any games players downloaded from the service prior to that date - those are theirs to keep forever.

"Even though this chapter of On the House is coming to an end, we're happy that we got to introduce so many great games to our awesome players. We're constantly looking for ways to improve our service and give our users an even better experience, and we thank everyone for being part of our community."

EA’s Origin Access Premier PC subscription is live

By Stephany Nunneley, Tuesday, 31 July 2018 21:37 GMT

Origin Access Premier is now available for PC users.

Origin Access Premier, announced during EA Play at E3 in June, has gone live as promised last week.

The service is a new tier of the Origin Access membership, and provides subscribers with over 100 games which can be played indefinitely. As long as a membership is maintained, obviously.

Subscribers are also provided access to full games such as Battlefield 5, FIFA 19, Madden NFL 19, and Anthem at release or a few days prior.

Title changed

Good news - the same Play Ahead and Pre-load options are available to non-Premier Origin Access members as well (I pre-ordered Burnout Paradise Remastered for PC - for all of $4.99USD

(possibly)Better News - if you have a debit card, you can still use it with PayPal - which is itself usable via Origin (including Origin Premier).  Yes - it's a pain in the rear, but it works. (I used the same method for my Premier trial, and for my Remastered pre-order at the deep discount.)

    • My wish list is: A trailer for Final Fantasy VII part 3 and a proper look at Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Not happening, but I'd kill for would be another game of any genre in the Frostpunk world and another game in the Detroit: Become Human world.
    • I tried Wino-Mail and had the same issue with it that I have with New Outlook: My two centurylink.net email accounts (one of which is my primary email account) refuse to work with either one, and sometimes refuse to even log in, even though ALL the relevant information is accurate. Thunderbird does not have this problem, so I'll stick with what works, thank you.
    • For me it has everything feature wise that I want. But boy the app sucks big time. This and Teams. Ever since they made the transition to WebView it has been slow AF. I mostly use both apps in the browser now because of too much memory being used by these 2 apps. Hoping that native versions are being worked upon.
    • Nearly 70% of Steam users now run Windows 11 by Taras Buria The May 2026 Steam Hardware & Software Survey results are now available on the official Steam website, showing Windows 11's continuous growth among the gaming audience. As of early June 2026, nearly 70% of all participants reported having a Windows 11-powered PC, while Windows 10's market share is steadily declining. According to Valve, in May 2026, Windows 11 increased its market share to 69.76% (+2.02 points), while Windows 10 dropped to 23.99% (-1.64 points). 64-bit Windows 7 is still showing up in Valve's reports, and apparently, about 0.07% of all survey participants still use the 17-year-old operating system. Valve no longer updates its client for Windows 7, but it still can access the platform, so the Windows 7 holdouts can stay away from newer Windows versions. Overall, 93.85% of all users run Windows (+0.38 points), while Linux is second with 3.99% (-0.53 points). macOS is third with at 2.16% (+0.15 points). The most popular Linux flavor is Arch Linux (0.35%), while macOS 26.4.1 is currently the dominant macOS release. On the hardware side, the most popular picks include an Intel processor (53.94% against AMD's 46.06%) with six cores (28.02%, -0.6 points), 16 GB of memory (41.14%, -0.28 points), and an NVIDIA graphics card (72.42%, with AMD having 19.13% and Intel 8.05%). The most popular graphics card on Steam is the desktop NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (3.85%, -0.14 points), while the laptop RTX 4060 is second with 3.77%, and the RTX 3050 is third with 3.10%. The average amount of VRAM is 8GB (25.89%), and the dominant display resolution is the classic 1920x1080 pixels (51.89%, -0.32 points). As usual, you can find more details from the latest survey on the official website. The results for April 2026 are available here.
