spike232
I built a media PC last year, Spec: AMD A8-6500 MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 Motherboard Corsair LP 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 Crucial M500 240GB SSD Lian Li PC-Q02B Samsung SN-506BB 300W SFX Windows 8.1 it ran fine connected to my TV, then in January I bought a new TV, Samsung F5000 46", about a week later I turned on the PC and got post beeps which indicated Display Failure, the pc then booted up but no picture on the HDMI, VGA still worked. I replaced the motherboard with the same model and all was well for about 3 months then exact same problem, this time I replaced it with a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI, and decided to try DVI with a DVI to HDMI cable, 2 days later no picture, switched over to HDMI and its working for now. The HDMI cable is connected in to the HDMI/DVI port on the TV named PC to enable the 4,4,4 colour mode. It would look like the TV is at fault but is there any other possible cause? Is there any way to stop this happening?
HawkMan
Ground fault is the only thing I could imagine causing an issue. and even that would be very specific. why not call Samsung ? they should send an onsite tech to look at it and test it. snaphat (Myles Landwehr) Member Posted April 6, 2014 Member Share Posted April 6, 2014 Sounds like the port is being surged for whatever reason. I found these: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/hdmi-surge-protector http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=hdmi+surge+protection&N=-1&isNodeId=
