RIP. It was pretty much expected given how ill he was lately. I know when we talk about him everyone mentions Cien a?os de soledad and El amor en los tiempos del c?lera, but my first introduction to him was through Cr?nica de una muerte anunciada. If at all you're interested in literature there's no way you wouldn't have at least heard about him.

I was kind of confused with 100 Years of Solitude at first, but I guess I got what the symbolism was after rereading a bit.

The first official Minecraft novel is here, whether you want it or not
      by Usama Jawad

Back in September 2016, it was announced that a novel based on Minecraft is in the works. Penned by Max Brooks, this would be the popular franchise's first official entry in this particular field. The author of the novel is best known for his hugely popular book World War Z. A film of the same name was released in 2013, but it differed significantly from Brooks' novel.

Now, the novel, titled Minecraft: The Island has finally made its way to Microsoft's Windows 10 Books Store.

Fans of the Minecraft franchise can now purchase the first novel for $11.99. A few months ago, Mojang's Marsh Davies described it as revolving around a character who is like a "cuboid Robinson Crusoe, but madder: a hero stranded in an unfamiliar land, with unfamiliar rules, learning to survive against tremendous odds."

The book's official description is as follows:

Weighing in at 288 pages, the title's age ratings describe it as being aimed towards children 6-12 years of age. You can purchase the book for $11.99 by visiting Microsoft's Windows 10 Store as mentioned in the company's blog post here. However, it is important to note that books acquired from Microsoft's Store are DRM-protected, which means that you'll only be able to read them through the firm's Edge browser.

A Canadian national has been arrested in Colombia after trying to board a flight to Toronto with a phony pregnant belly stuffed with cocaine, police say.

The tourist caught the attention of a policewoman at Bogota's International Airport who allegedly asked her how far along she was.

She reacted aggressively, which aroused the suspicion of officials who went on to search her.

This year, nearly 150 people were caught with drugs at Bogota's airport.

About a third of them were foreign nationals, according to the Colombian authorities.

The Canadian national had entered Colombia at the beginning of August and was about to board a flight to return to Toronto, when a policewoman asked her how long she had been pregnant.

"[The Canadian] didn't like the question, which made the official suspicious. Instinctively, she then very delicately touched the lady's belly, realising it was too hard and extremely cold," said the deputy director of Colombia's police anti-narcotics section, Colonel Esteban Arias Melo.

The woman allegedly said she was seven months pregnant.

After performing a body search, the police found two sealed bags stashed inside the latex belly, which contained 2kg (5lb) of cocaine.

Colombian authorities say the Canadian national will be charged with drug trafficking, possession and production and could be sentenced to between five and eight years in prison.

The drugs would have had a street value price of around $60,000 (?94,000), Colombian police said.

Government officials say 874 foreigners are currently being held in the country's jails, the majority on drug charges.
