Yogurth
Terrible forced strategy, lack of any distinguishable features led Google+ to this. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/04/report-google-to-end-forced-g-integration-drastically-cut-division-resources/
HawkMan
It makes sense, as a social network it's a total failure. Just keep the core user system as a common google account system(like microsoft account) for all google services and move the subdivisions that are used to the departments they belong and close the rest. +E.Worm Jimmy and Dick Montage 2 Share

seta-san
thank god. youtube's integration with google+ has been a disaster for me. it keeps trying to get me to comment under my real and when I deleted my google+ account to get it to stop doing that it's made it so I can't post on my phone and it still, for some reason, has my real name and old profile picture. I want google+ to die. Worst idea ever. Sszecret, Depicus, Duffydemon and 2 others 5 Share

XorpiZ
Google+ was one of the worst ideas to ever come out of Google. The social network itself is probably OK, but the forced integration took stupid to a whole new level. Depicus 1 Share
seta-san
the integration took it from an alright site to something everyone hated. The brand is unrecoverable now Google+ was one of the worst ideas to ever come out of Google. The social network itself is probably OK, but the forced integration took stupid to a whole new level. FiB3R
The fact that I was forced to use a real name, meant I never even gave it a chance. Apparently, I wasn't missing much. Lord Method Man 1 Share

HawkMan
Yay! The YouTube comment system will be usuable again soon. :D Not so sure, since they will still keep the user system as a google account like system for universal google login, and most likely comments. techbeck
But yet the source said... A Google spokesperson gave Ars the same statement the company gave TechCrunch: ?Today?s news has no impact on our Google+ strategy?we have an incredibly talented team that will continue to build great user experiences across Google+, Hangouts, and Photos.? On Gundotra's announcement post, Larry Page wrote "we?ll continue working hard to build great new experiences for the ever-increasing number of Google+ fans." People can speculate all they want...but this is a wait and see situation. Anibal P 1 Share
+Eternal Tempest MVC Posted April 25, 2014 MVC Share Posted April 25, 2014 I hope this is true, not a fan of the forced G+ integration as well. However this is still listed as a rumor.
theyarecomingforyou
The problem with Google+ is that it's just a me-too social network. It isn't about improving the user experience, it's about taking on Facebook and Twitter. Everytime I login it's prompting me to add people and it's incredibly tedious, while YouTube keeps trying to force me to use my real name - something I consider a serious privacy concern and safety threat. I don't dislike Google+ but it does nothing for me.
game_over
1200 people worked on Google+, wow. How can it still suck so much. Google+ doesn't suck, it's a well polished site with lots of great features that look and function just as good as Facebook. The strategy was all wrong, it was too little too late and didn't pick up the momentum it needed to become successful. I'm happy to see it die, but in general it doesn't suck, the features will make better use elsewhere. Raa and Jarrichvdv 2 Share

HawkMan
For all the peopel who say Google is denying this and it's nto going anywhere. What part of googles history says they admit they're closing a service until they actually close it. most of their services that closed where rumors to close long before the closing was actually announced. the fact that google dnies the rumors means absolutely nothing. Doesn't mean the rumors are right, but the people who have claimed these rumors have far more credibility than google in this regard.
technord
Google+ was a disaster, and I didn't like kitkat 4.4 that much either. Not sure what google are smoking at the minute. That said, I do like the idea of forcing people to use their real names. What would internet trolls do then?

They would keep on trolling. they don't care that much, and you can just use another name anyway, they're not checking that they're actually real names. ichi
As long as the service keeps running they can shut down all the integrations for all I care. I don't use to post much on any social network, but Google+ communities are far more interesting than anything I've seen on any other of these social things.
