Georgia officials said the suspected gunman who opened fire Tuesday morning at a FedEx facility injuring six was found dead by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and had bullets strapped to his chest like Rambo.

The gunman was described as a package handler to the facility and he carried an assault rifle, knife and bullets strapped across his chest, according to a witness.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that six people were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.  There are three people in critical condition, including two with life-threatening wounds, a doctor at the hospital said.

Liza Aiken, an employee at the facility, described the scene to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"I looked to my left. I saw him standing there and the knife was on the ground. He dropped his knife. He had an assault rifle. He had bullets strapped to his chest like Rambo. I mean he looked like he was heading into war. As soon as I saw him, I ran the other way. I ran and made sure that people upstairs were gone. He was in all black. I think he had a camo vest. He had an assault rifle and bullets strapped to his chest."

David Titus, a FedEx truck driver, said he was just coming to work when he saw someone walk up and shoot a security guard in the abdomen outside the building. He said he could hear more gunshots after the gunman went inside.

"It was chaos," Titus said. "Everyone was running ducking and hiding, trying to get out of there."

A bomb team from the FBI was on the scene assisting in the investigation.

^different story

This happened not too far from me, it was just a 19 year old kid that did this and likely and disgruntled employee. Once again though this is going to bring about the gun debate and mask the real issues here. Kennesaw is a city that requires gun ownership for one, second the fed ex facility was a gun free zone. Now the debate of course has already stirred up in the local papers comments sections. Of course its the usual shoulda could woulda debate

If it wasn't a gun free zone someone with a gun could have stopped him. Again a shoulda could woulda, maybe someone could have, but also people are caught off guard and can be disarmed.

If guns were banned this wouldn't have happened. Who knows he could have gotten the gun illegally, secondly If people want to protect themselves from those that illegally obtain a weapon let them.

Again though thats just the debate that gets stirred up everytime, this kid was just 19, and probably had some mental issues going on. The real issues are the mental health in this country and knowing when the signs start to show. I just hope that sometime soon this is something that really starts getting addressed, too many depressed kids looking not only for an out, but also a way to out other people for their problems

I hope the people with life threatening wounds pull through. I'm glad no one was outright killed. Lets hope the death toll stays at one.

Your not going full postal if you do not use a cat for a silencer.

    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
