I came in here to say that's an awesome idea but ^^ 116K posts wtf, weren't you at like 50K last year?  There's entire forums on the internet with thousands of members that have less posts than your cumulative total. wow alright back on track tip of the hat to the 25K posts idea anyway very generous give back to the members.

On to the next great idea though how about a commemorative avatar badge for 10+ years ;)

I've been suggesting an 'old fart' badge before. A dark grey one with gothic script font. :shifty:

Steven, if I had a hat, I'd be doffing it to you right now, so this will have to do until I can convince myself I can pull off wearing a trilby...

Just did some number-crunching; I've averaged - as near as makes no difference - 5 posts a day over the past 8+ years, so if I carry on at that rate, I'll hit 25k in exactly 9 years time, on this very day. Might put it off a few months so then it can be a 32nd birthday present to myself. :P

Nice, I got about 8500 to go. Should hit that in about 8 years or so. :punk:

Can one just purchase the shirts outright though? I would no doubt purchase one as long as they are not ridiculously priced.

I did the numbers:

I've been active 880 Days. 1,370 Posts (as of this post). 1.556818182 posts per day.

I require 23,630 more posts to qualify which will take 15,178.39416 Days.

On November 25, 2055 at 09:27 (+10:00) you owe me a shirt.

I will be 71 years old. So, make it a small.

If all the posts of mine that got me in hot water with mods, or arguments with fellow Neowinians were removed from my count I think I'd only have about 25% of my total  :shiftyninja:  Still pretty cool to think I've been on a site for 11 years. I first joined to follow KoL and sanctified's XP themes.

I wouldn't ask for a tshirt due to shipping costs, but I wouldn't mind being a subscriber for a year! I was a sub a while back but since I've turned into a grinch with money and whitelist ads on my most visited sites instead.

I fear this will just lead to more spam posts but.

I'd rather have people be rewarded for useful posts but people tend to judge people more than the quality of their posts so that doesn't work as well either.

pageviews is what brings in the money form the small ads, page views come from peopel wanting to visit because they find good useful posts, not from thousand upon thousands of useless spam... :/

    • Google DeepMind published a document on June 18, 2026, that may be the most consequential admission yet from a frontier AI lab: alignment training alone cannot guarantee that AI agents will remain under human control, so structural containment must be built before more capable models arrive.............. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318758/20260620/google-deepmind-ai-control-roadmap-when-alignment-fails-defense-depth-takes-over.htm
    • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
    • I'd basically agree. The only point I would add is to be careful not to treat science as a religion, complete with priests, dogma, and blasphemy. Humans are highly susceptible to religious-oriented ways of thinking since it aids in forming communities of like-minded people. The problem is that when this happens, nobody wants to be ostracized from the group by saying that a deeply-held idea is wrong. Science and "peer review" are not immune to this behavior, unfortunately. In the end, finding truth is our own responsibility and we can't depend on others to hand it to us. Skepticism is key, along with curiosity and the willingness to critically evaluate and consider ideas both new and old.
