I was watching a review on youtube about a new Harry's Shaving Box Set  I thinking about it for my dad for fathers day. https://www.harrys.com/products/the-winston-set-engraved

During the review he mentioned how he had been using the same razor blade for a WHOLE week.

I only shave once every 2 - 3 days, but I replace my rasor blade about once every ...uh ... I don't even know :D ... 2 months,.... maybe more? Or when ever it hurts to shave

Since I work out of the house and don't usually have to deal with people face to face, it's per month.. usually 2 or 3 times. Basically when the annoyance of having a beard overtakes the annoyance of shaving.  The blades take quite a beating, so it's typically 1 maybe 2 shaves and they're toast.

The answer may not be simple and generic. It all depends on the type of your skin and hair and what you are comfortable with.

I normally shave on Monday (twice in a week if necessary to see a client or have a function). Always do it in a warm shower with a trimmer for coarse cut and then proper shaver for fine shave. Change blade every 10 shaves.

War, did you see the post I made on this last week? I think it's ridiculous how much blades cost so I was on this mission to find a cheaper method. Someone on that thread pointed me to Safety Razors. I'm only 1 week in so no real feedback yet. With the store bought razors I was shaving every 3 days with a new razor each time :( Single blade disposable.

For some reason the skin on my face is super sensitive. So back when i used a blade i had to buy super sharp razors and replace them often. probably after 15 shaves each.

Now i  use an electric shaver, and only have to buy new blade things for it every other year or so. Shave a couple times a week with it.

I put 16 shaves per blade and shave 1 time a week, whether I need it or not! :)

At 55 years old, still have a baby face, pretty much! :)

Had a drill sergeant in the Army back in 1977 that used to get mad as heck at me because I had 1 little peach fuzz on my chin that he couldn't shave off because it was so soft! He tried a few times too. 1 can of shave cream lasted me my whole 3 years in the service.

I use an electric razor. I've used two razors in the past 10 years (one is a backup in case I forget to charge the other), and I've never had to replace the blades on either. I use them every day and have never had to replace the blades.

i have a electric shaver (Phillips Norelco 7345XL) since early 2010 (i would have been 30 years old at that time) and it's still on the same head (and original battery. but i fully discharge it before re-charging as that's best for those with Ni-Cd batteries in them) and i use it often to and it will probably last me many more years i suspect as once i am done i turn on faucet and let hot water run over the shaving heads and then let it dry and once in a while ill put a very small amount of clipper type of oil on the heads and let it run for a bit to work it in.

i would say i typically shave about once every 48-72 hours or about every couple of days sometimes three as i typically do it after i get out of the shower and my face dries (since my shaver works best when your face is clean/dry as it's not made for wet shaving) as for the most part i shower on Tuesday/Thursday and then either Saturday or Sunday (so basically every other day but once a week is a 3-day gap). but i noticed i tend to tidy up my shave a bit later in the day of my initial shave and then after that i wait til the next time i shower.

i figure shaving every day is generally unnecessary since it's takes about 2 days to really even start to notice it and it's probably harder on your skin to especially those who use a actual razor instead of the electric types which are not as hard on your skin.

but when i had a razor (the good 3-4 blade types(as those cheap disposable types are useless as they are complete junk)) those also lasted me years as i typically shave in the shower with it and lather up with soap on my face back when i used that. but once i got a electric shaver i can't go back to razor's as the convenience of it is just much better (and works pretty much as good as a razor once you get used to it) especially since it works dry and you can use it whenever you want where as with a regular razor i need to be in the shower to use it otherwise it will hurt with the tug and pull stuff as you can't use those dry and i don't bother with the shaving cream BS as that's a pain to use i imagine(since i never used it) and costs more $$$ and you spend more time.

so unless someones hair on there face wears blades out quick(?) i don't see the need to change razors much in general as i figure once a month would be the earliest i would even consider changing it but like i say using the method i use (shaving in the shower with soap as you don't need to see what you are doing as you can feel it) i can literally get years out of it or easily months on the conservative side of things.

Since I work out of the house and don't usually have to deal with people face to face, it's per month.. usually 2 or 3 times. Basically when the annoyance of having a beard overtakes the annoyance of shaving.  The blades take quite a beating, so it's typically 1 maybe 2 shaves and they're toast.

hell, in your case you would be better off getting a trimmer to cut the heavy stuff first and then use a razor or just get a electric shaver as those tend to come with built in trimmers.

When the blue/green mark has gone on the fascia of the blade.

I shave usually when I need to.

Though average, twice per week.

ASDA are doing my blades for ?9.98 so I got 8 packs.

They maybe should last a year or so.

These are the ones here

As I'm lazy I only shave once a week, normally on a Sunday and in the shower. The process is shaving twice in one session, once going with the grain, then against the grain.

I've got sensitive skin around my neck and very prone to razor burns so I tend only to use the razor 4 times before changing them

Tell me how he likes it I am thinking of getting one.

    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2 to finally get one of the most requested features by Sayan Sen This past week Microsoft officially confirmed Windows 11 version 26H2 with the latest build, 26300.8697, for testing in the experimental Insider channel. The company also published more details about it mainly directed towards IT admins and system admins. Essentially version 26H2 will be delivered via an enablement package (eKB) over Windows 11 25H2. If you are wondering about some of the upcoming features in the next Windows version, one of them is certainly very interesting as Microsoft has confirmed it is finally bringing one of the most overwhelmingly requested features ever. March Rogers, the Partner Director of Design at Microsoft, recently highlighted some of the Search improvements that the company is testing, and during the interaction with users on X where he posted it, Rogers also confirmed that the company is working on disabling web search results inside Search. This is something which many users find quite annoying as Windows would often serve them links to Bing which it feels could be more helpful rather than bringing up the actual object or app the user may be searching for on their PC. Finally though the company is prioritizing local file search over the web. However the feature could not be disabled for many users as not all new features are immediately rolled out to everyone. Image via phantomofearth (X) Windows enthusiast phantomofearth who likes to dig deep into new builds uncovered the IDs you will need to enable these features. Using the following feature IDs the new Search-related features landing in Windows 11 26H2 can be used. Follow the steps below to enable the new Search experience on Windows 11 build 26300.8697: Download ViveTool from GitHub and unpack the files in a convenient and easy-to-find folder. Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin). Switch Windows Terminal to the Command Prompt profile with the Ctrl + Shift + 2 shortcut or by clicking the arrow-down button at the top of the window. Navigate to the folder containing the ViveTool files with the CD command. For example, if you have placed ViveTool in C:\Vive, type CD C:\Vive. Type vivetool /enable /id: and press Enter. Restart your computer. If you change your mind and want to restore, repeat the steps above and replace /enable with /disable in the commands on steps 5 and 6. Delightedly and perhaps also expectedly, once you disable web search and other such bloat, the Windows 11 Search is said to get snappier as remarked by another Windows enthusiast Xeno.
