game_over
So i plugged in my external HDD into my Windows PC for the first time last night, it wasn't recognised, after 30 mins of playing around and thinking it was dying i realised it is not readable by Windows. So what is the best file system for external hard drives?I need something that will work properly on both systems. FATs 4GB file size limit puts me off so i guess i'm left with NTFS or ExFAT?Is ExFAT a suitable file system or is it worth paying the money for the software that allows NTFS on OSX? Xahid
exFat is better option if it is supported by OsX
Dark-Heart
Hi... NTFS is only readable on OSX, but ExFAT is both readable and writeable. http://lifehacker.com/5927185/use-the-exfat-file-system-and-never-format-your-external-drive-again So if you have an external USB HD format it using ExFAT.
