Doctor Strange finds a Director In Scott Derrickson

Tom Hiddleston is already Loki in the same continuity.

Viggo Mortensen was also my first pick. Just look at his performance as Lucifer in The Prophecy <shiver>

Mark Strong could also be awesome, but he has 2 film shoots on 2015; Grimsby and Kingsman: The Secret Service. Not much time to fit in a long Dr. Strange shoot for 2016.

Tom Hiddleston could still play Strange, the characters are very different and as you said earlier about using makeup, it could make it possible.

Virgo Mortensen was great in The Prophecy.  It was his performance in Eastern Promises that made me think he would be a very good candidate to play Dr. Strange.

Good to hear Mark Strong is busy, I enjoy his performances very much.

THR reports that cinema chameleon Tilda Swinton has been tapped to portray a Tibetan mystic called Ancient One, a mentor to Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange

Set for November 4, 2016 release and directed by Scott Derrickson, "Doctor Strange" turns on the titular supernatural hero, a genius surgeon who, after the demise of his career, gets taken under the wings of the Ancient One who trains him to defend the world against evil. Originally in the comics, the Ancient One had been male. But, likely in light of increasing gender paradigm shifts within the industry, Marvel Studios is going female.

The film will begin shooting this November in the UK, with Kevin Feige onboard to produce. Busy actress Swinton will soon be seen in Judd Apatow's Summer comedy "Trainwreck," the Coens' 2016 release "Hail, Caesar!" and (later this year, we hope) "A Bigger Splash" from Luca Guadagnino, who directed Swinton in "I Am Love."

Wait, doesn't Rosario Dawson play Night Nurse in DD?

2 different incarnations

Claire Temple: Rosario Dawson, whose Netflix/Marvel character is a composite of Claire, an ex-g/f of Luke Cage who is a nurse and later becomes a Hell's Kitchen doctor and,

Linda Carter: Rachel McAdams, the actual Night Nurse.

The amalgamated character on Netflix was used because the Night Nurse on-screen moniker is for films only.

Hate to burst any bubbles, but that's definitely not an official teaser. It's still good though!
