Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

LOVED IT!!!!

This is the Batman story in all it's glory. If there's one guy on Earth who gives a

damn about humans, it's Batman. If you follow the "lore", Batman keeps track of

anyone who might be a danger to the human race and figures out how to take

them out if necessary. And from the trailer, this is him letting Superman know

he's not nearly as powerful as he might think. Basically, if you get out of line

I'm the guy who's going to put you down.

I sooooo can't wait.

Holy crap... just watched that "official" trailer that Damien posted. Check out: .40.

Those guys kneeling have "S" patches on their shoulders. Oooooo.....

What? Let me guess you are one of those "superman movies must be full of rainbows and sunshine" types?

Not at all, I just thought for a movie that was meant to be big on Batman fighting Superman, all they did was stare at each other.

Disappointing for me, and you gotta admit, Man of Steel was a terrible movie.

No, I don't have to admit that because I don't agree with you, I thought it was a good movie.

It's a teaser, and besides, why show us the fight?  Hell, why give out anything more than it has to?  I mean that last terminator trailer gave away the whole movie, you don't even have to go watch it now (maybe that's why they did it though? :p)

Teasers and trailers in general shouldn't give away a lot of the story, that's not good at all.

The trailer is really good. But so was Man of Steel's, and we know how that one ended up.

Yeah, as the highest grossing Superman movie of all time.

Yeah, and also a piece of ###### movie.

You can think that of course, but as far as the studio cares, MoS was a big success, and obviously the numbers show that a lot of people went to see it.  $660million worldwide is not a small number for a movie to pull in.  I have little doubt that BvS will break the $1billion worldwide mark at the box office next year.

in comparison to what exactly?

i thought it was entertaining.   some parts were crap but some i enjoyed.     i came in with no expectations though.

this new movie looks bad ass.     i did not like the idea at first, but i think it could work really well and be huge.

I have no doubts about the financial performance of this movie, why are you even bringing that up? All I was saying is, we shouldn't judge the quality of the movie based on the quality of the trailer. If we go that route, then Prometheus is one of the greatest movies ever.

In comparison to other action/drama movies and other comic book/superhero/action origin movies, but also compared to a movie as a narrative device and visual medium in general. Compared to the likes of first Iron Man or Batman Begins, which are closest to it (Batman Begins especially, as it ushered in a more serious tone for these movies, which Man of Steel desperately tried to achieve), Man of Steel fails on almost every level. It fails to establish any character you care about, it's pacing is horrible, the plot is dumb, the tone inconsistent (and imo, completely wrong) and the third act is mindless, boring action with next to no stakes.

So don't go see this next one then? You make this posts like you're being forced to go to movies you have no interest in.

Like I said earlier, I enjoyed the first one. Could it have been better? Yes it could have been. What movie couldn't be better? But it was far from a terrible movie.

So don't go see this next one then? You make this posts like you're being forced to go to movies you have no interest in.

When did I say anything that would indicate I wouldn't go see this one? I'm just saying that, even though the trailer is really good, I'm still skeptical about the quality of the final movie, seeing as how burned I was with Man of Steel. Am I really nonsensical? My last jab in Jurassic World thread for instance is obviously more cynical and if I annoyed anyone there, I wouldn't try to justify it in any way, but why are you people acting like something like a silly Batman movie is beyond reproach?

I'm using the financial success of the movie as an indicator of how good or bad the general movie going public thought of it.  I don't take a few critics reviews on things as defacto,  Until I see it I won't know if I'll like it but a good trailer helps show enough to get you interested in seeing it in the first place. Regardless, the money a movie brings in is as good a metric as anything to use.

I couldn't disagree more.

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
    • These are not "great" prices... just "less awful". Apparently "Those who forget the past are doomed to pay higher prices and think they've won."
