Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

There's still time to polish the CGI, this isn't coming out for another year, normally all the CGI is wrapped up in post production.  I think they just did a quick job for the trailer.   Personally, CGI issues aside, I think it's fine.  If they don't touch it up by it's theatrical release, there's always the BluRay version, it's not the first or last time a studio goes back and tweaks movies for their BD releases.

If the movies are part of a big DC family, Batman v. Superman is the older, more mature sibling on which the weight of responsibility falls. Suicide Squad is the bratty little kid, chewing bubble gum and tagging walls.

At first Bats and Sups didn't exactly get along, and they've had their moments since, so that's not new. This isn't the Super Friends.

The heat vision was probably Zod, but both were tearing ass through the cities.

I'm wondering of the crisis that pulls them together is the Atlantean-Amazon war from Flashpoint?

It was started by assassination of Amazon Queen Hippolyta at the (partly political) wedding of Arthur and Diana. Garth, an ally of Arthur, was blamed but that wasnt the case.

I'm wondering of the crisis that pulls them together is the Atlantean-Amazon war from Flashpoint?

It would be really too much if they introduced an alternate universe in the movie that's supposed to establish the 'regular' universe. I'm thinking it's probably Lex and his machinations that unites them.

They don't have to introduce all of Flashpoint, or even Flash, just the war and the runup to it.

Wasn't there rumors of a bunch of cameos/teasers of other heroes like Flash though?  Or are we just going to get a glimpse of Aquaman, though that's still a rumor as well I think?

I'm posting this video because if it's true, that's amazing. But it's only a fan theory that AngryJoe seems to want to believe (like I want to believe, it would be awesome, seriously) - BUT beware of possible spoilers if it is true. POSSIBLE SPOILERS IF TRUE I REPEAT:

WARNING: Video contains swearing.

What's more exciting than watching Batman and Superman square off on the big screen for the first time? Task Force X apparently! In a surprising turn of events, the Comic-Con trailer for Suicide Squad has overtaken it's Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice counterpart on YouTube views - despite being released a whole two days later. Currently, the David Ayer helmed film is sitting on over 36.1 million views on the popular video sharing website, while BVS has only 34.9 million.

Glad to hear that. Despite Man of Steel being a terrible introduction to these movies, at least on paper, DC seems to be taking a bit more creative approach -- the directors aren't just hired nobodies, and the story isn't just the same recycled turd over and over again. Suicide Squad could be the most refreshing take on these movies exactly because it's not just Random Hero fighting Cheesy Villain Counterpart. As a matter of fact, that's the most interesting aspect of BvS as well.

I have to think that WB and DC have a plan laid out for how they want these movies to tie into each other, unless they decide to just figure that out after the fact, but I don't think so, I think SS and BvS will be linked in some fashion and events in both will play into the next solo Batman movie as well.  The strongest rumor out there right now, or at least one that I think is more likely, is that the suit was Jason Todds and the solo batman movie we're going to get is going to borrow from the Red Hood arc and Todds return etc.

I really hope WB/DC can work everything together, as far as how they introduce other heroes like Flash, GL, Aquaman and bring them all into the big JL movie.  Heck, the best thing would be to have cameos or maybe a bit more than just a cameo from one of the trinity members in future flash, GL movies to not only tie things up but also give those movies a boost.

I wouldn't mind it. It's time for them to acknowledge the Robin's in the movies properly, and I'm really glad that so far they're doing that. Seeing Jason Todd in person in the movie will be a HUGE deal for me!

    • By the sounds of that wall of Fox News propaganda gibberish attacking the Democratic Party you've already had plenty of "juices" flowing this morning. You've ruined what could have been a productive comment thread with your bias post.
    • (Topic to get the juices flowing this Sunday morning!...) Actually, the situation has almost nothing to do with "lack of skills", especially since assembly-line skills can be taught to anyone, including Americans, certainly. Rather, the inadequacy-to-impossibility of large-scale tech manufacturing in America today, and the reasons why America finds tech manufacturing completely onerous in the 21st century, has to do with politically driven laws amid a plethora of non-scientific, utterly politicized "science-fact" that is patently false, punitive business taxation at every turn, an array of judicial fines of unimaginable scope and complexity, and, last but not least, American unionization strictures that serve to actually slay job creation and hobble all such manufacturing endeavors in America before they can get off the ground. Globalism emerged, they tell us, as the needed answer to American hubris and an unholy American drive to excel. Unless one is buried under mounds of political propaganda, it's easy to see the absurdity of labeling the employees of SpaceX, for instance, as "unskilled labor"... Etc. ad infinitum. At one time in the recent past, American manufacturing prowess was the envy of the world in a wide variety of technical fields! The current federal and state government roadblocks against America becoming competitive globally in tech manufacturing are considerable, it's true, as anyone with a working brain knows. But remarkably, that is only half the story! The other half of the story is, of course, the corporations themselves... Chinese tech manufacturing is simply unassailable in terms of profits, because the Chinese government wants to see its tech manufacturing second-to-none globally so that no companies/nations can compete in terms of ROI, and China has completely succeeded in that goal. Let's tic-off a few things: *Chinese tariff policies are set according to what is considered best for Chinese business, Chinese employees, and the Chinese people. Huge difference with how things are done with tariffs in the US--as the US government (SCOTUS in this case, Congress in others) plainly feels that tariffs are "unfair" for the limited number of citizens who may pay them, whereas nothing is "unfair" when Congress considers the Personal Income Tax rates to be infinitely hike-able, along with infinitely enlarging annual budget deficits. *The Chinese government boldly subsidizes Chinese companies to artificially amplify their profits. *The Chinese government deliberately refuses to avidly demonize Chinese businesses and does not consider Chinese businesses "the enemy", so very unlike American (D)s these days. *Chinese labor laws and businesses are allowed to set their own labor policies according to what Chinese companies consider is best for companies and their employees... Simply put, American workers in tech manufacturing are not allowed to set their own labor policies! It is the height of hypocrisy for Americans to decry working conditions in China while simultaneously ensuring that American products are manufactured in China, not in the US, simply to maximize profits. There is nothing wrong with making a profit, of course, absolutely nothing. But there is plenty wrong with attempts to normalize hypocrisy of this kind! But rank hypocrisy and the (D) party in the US are longtime bedfellows... The current government in Washington is working overtime to see if it can toss out the horribly poor, failed economic policies of the past, while the (D)s still in Washington work very hard to bring back the stupidity whenever possible. With the right policies in place, America can be an infinitely competitive manufacturer.
