First of all, mods, if you feel this is in the wrong place move it. Now down to business.
For a computer science class I am in right now, we had to do a coding project where we made an AI player for the game Mancala. The prof decided to run a tournament to determine our grades and being the genious he is, wrote a distributed computing program. It's in the form of an applet and all you have to do is go to http://www.users.csbsju.edu/~clusena/cs317/ and click on the Find the Best Player link. Be aware that this will drain 100% of your CPU and is not "nice" like Seti or Folding. You also have to complete all 10 games of the match for it to send the results back. So if you can only keep it open for a short amount of time, it's not worth it. The ideal situation is to have it open for several hours at a time, like if you leave your computer on overnight or while you're at work. Please consider doing this because the more people that do it, the less time it will take. Finally, if you do participate, please post here so I can get an idea of how many helped. THANKS!
So this requires hardware to be setup in the area you want to listen to music in? And it requires hardware for each user?
So useless for me when I'm out walking my dog? Or when I'm at the gym and want to listen to my podcasts rather than the music the gym is broadcasting? Heck, will it even work in my own home and allow me to walk around from room to room, or even within a room?
Yeah, these won't be replacing headphones anytime soon.
Definately going to be used by advertisers in stores to target just one person with audible adverts as they walk around different sections.
Peanut Butter Jelly meme starts playing as you walk past the jif peanut butter..
