Max Veteran Posted December 10, 2003 Veteran Share Posted December 10, 2003 I do light/medium video editing, and a bit of Macromedia Fireworks/Dreamweaver. My school has just invested in two eMacs, which seem pretty cheap and do the job I want them to, but I maybe wrong, as I am currently a 'Windows' person. What kind of a Mac would you reccommend me? cq_
if you think the emac is fine then any new powerbook should be very well for you...
isus
what kind of mac are you looking for? portable, desktop, or all-in-one? i wouldn't recommend you go buy a powermac or imac, as it is rumored that they will be updated in january/feb. really, any mac is fine, they are all quite quick now. kairon
iMac are a good choice, the LCD is top notch. About waiting I would say that if you really need it now then just get it, its not like the iMac's are gonna stop using budget graphics cards or become much faster then they are now. Steve
Yea, it depends on your budget. The eMac is a GREAT introduction to Macintosh, and OS X. Especially if moneys not flush for Dual G5's. Maybe, you should look to pickup and old/refurb G4 PowerMac. That way you're spending money close to an eMac / iMac with the expandability of a Tower ... and a little more power than the iMac / eMac... especially with a Dual. Sounds ideal, except you'd need a display? ...but its really hard to recommend a Mac, unless we know more about'cha! Peace
