To make room for Sheffs 5 billion dollar signing bonus? ;) <- actually didn't that fall thru?

Actually Steinbrener flipped out and said Sheffield is going to take the original deal or nothing at all.

good news. im glad to see that someone finally decided to leave the yankees. they said on PTI that theres still a chance pettitte could stay in NY, but it would take some serious begging by steinbrenner, possibly if he got the image of becoming the winningest lefty in yankee history into Andy's mind

please resign pettitte.. i would miss him dearly...

i hear that if the sheff deal falls through, the yanks'll have their sights set on vlad... i'd rather have him than sheffield actually
