You may want to re-enable the profile pictures, since with the Simple List View mode then don't show up in the list.

Oh, that's getting better. Contact looks better now. Now the top half is just way to much wasted space.

The Show profile pictures will show the pictures in the conversation, but not in the contacts list if the Simple List View is enabled.

Ya, its ok, I could care less about pictures. I know who im talking to, don't need perdy pictures to remind me :D
