Is it to late to learn to skate?

Recommended Posts

I always wanted to be able to skateboard and do all of those tricks.

Am currently 18 years old and very athletic generally.

I was wondering if it is too late to learn how to skateboard and to master the tricks?

i'd hurry though, your body is not gonna be able to bounce back like it used to. but look at hawk and some of those guys, they are old now. i doubt they fall as much as they used to though :)

or just do what i do and pick up longboard skateboarding.

well there's longboard surfing, and longboard skateboarding. it's in contrast to short boards. like, my skateboard is 48", compared to like 28-30".

I never had the balance to skate, to surf yes, but on the skateboard I had only nice accidents!!! ;)

But if you are athletic enough...give it a try.

(after the third broken bone you'll give up anyways... lol)

I've skated since 6th grade. If you are serious about it, my advice to you is to hang out with other skaters who are more experienced.

They'll teach you things, and motivate you to keep going. It is really frustrating at times - and without their support you'll probably just get fed up and quit.

That, and don't skate mongo. Push with your front foot ON the board :D

Good luck...

Never to late,

Ive been skating for 5 or 6 years and i think that everyone has bad balance when they start

but it'll get better over time.

And its fine to push mongo if you want. (Though youll look f*****g stupid)
