The first computer I ever used

Recommended Posts

The First computer i ever saw was an Apple IIe that was wheeled into my second grade classroom. Later on in elementary school we had an Apple II lab where they were all networked. The first computer i ever owned was an old IBM Clone 286. That lasted about a week before it died completely and i got my Packard Bell 486 the following X-mas. As a side note, i have one of the old 5.25 floppy drives from that 286 in my current computer - an AMD Athalon 1.2 with 786mb ram and Win2k. I bet that floppy drive never thought it would live to see the day...

My first was a Micro-Dot branded 286, with DOS 6.2. After about a year (I think) we upgraded it to a 386 with a colour screen (the old one was green mono) and Windows 3.1.

Ahh, I remember those old apps - Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, PFS First Choice, Dosshell, BoA (mouse game - mmm - must go download from siomewhere...). And I still remember all the commands! Well, most.

My first was a Commodore VIC 20.

Yeah... Those were the good old days. :|

Same here, VIC-20 were awesome :D

I just picked up a boxed VIC-20 from eBay a few weeks ago... ah the memories... seems strange looking at it on the big screen tho :p

My first was a good ol' commodore 64, having to put the game into the tape deck and WAIT for half an hour for the game to load, then you would only play it 10 minutes then change it.

After that I had an Amiga 600, a spectacle of graphics and sound :woot: . I was a little dissapointed as a friend of mine had a 1200....WITH A HARDRIVE!! ahhh those where the days...

I wanted to post this just for fun.. Do you know what this is?

Every heard of a BBC Micro?

Man! that is what I played in school Primary school Sweet! The first ever proper comp I remember playing was...... actually don't remember lol. But I know it was 1 with funny wee turning things and looked as if it was playing pong. First proper comp I played was a Amstrad 464. SWEET! And I can remember destroying 2 Atari ST Floppy Disk Drives! lol.

First computer I used was an RML380Z ...

It had a 2mhz processor, a whopping 16k of RAM, a massive 40x24x2 resolution (80x24x2 hi-res :)), and used single sided 5.25'' floppies ...

My fondest memory of these was playing the Level 9 Adventure Games, all displayed in super high resolution text :)

My First was an Apple II, *remineses about blaying digdug* but my first REAL computer was a Gateway, it was a 386, 75 MHZ if i am not mistaking 8mb of ram, a 2gb hardrive, and windows 3.1, with i believe Aol 4.0 with a 14K Dial up modem :) Thows were the days back when i was 10.

Chill out, be groovy,

    • Really? Use a better search engine https://www.google.com/search?...ourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
    • Seems like Neowin has transitioned into being simps for the white house. I can't find a review for the last UFC games that came out.
