I am not gonna bitch and moan about reboots as I have nothing against them in principal.

I am not going to suggest that Hollywood owes me anything based upon my own personal nostalgic investment in the original movies.

I simply have no desire to watch this.

Exactly. The reason Hollywood does keep making reboots is people are going to watch them, and they're spending good money to do so. Hollywood is a business and making money is the proinciple point of business.

I'm also not entitled to anything, Hollywood hasn't directly made me any promises, they don't owe me anything. If they reboot or even if they do a GB3, it takes nothing away from the original two movies (yes, i even enjoyed the second one). Those movies remain unchanged and a great nostalgic treat.

All the bitching and moaning could mean that the best movie to ever come out might never be made. It's not to much of a stretch to think it could be a good movie.

We just have to wait and see what happens, and if the movie turns out to be utter crap, then just don;t go and see it.

I can see why people get upset, but that;s only because they let it.

Kate and Leslie are pretty good on SNL. Kristen Wiig may be decent if she doesn't go over the top on her acting like she tends to do. Melissa McCarthy however...that one I wish they had avoided...

Just because they're funny in one thing doesn't mean they belong in another.

I don't like that this is a reboot, and I don't like any of these choices for casting.

That's just my opinion, but I have no interest in this film at all now. I'd rather they never make another Ghostbusters than this.

hrmm interesting to see how this one plays out,  a reboot of such a popular classic with a bizzaire all feminine twist;  if this is bad enough it might shock Hollywood into easing the break peddles on all these unnecessary reboots.  Alternatively at the other end you can also imagine the critic narrative being hijacked and any negative commentary on this or comparisons to the original must mean you hate women zzz.

Going to watch it ion the theater just to spite all the hateful asses here and everywhere else

Cast looks OK, not sure why suddenly you all hate funny ladies, would prefer an original story tho. But if Murray is still attached to the project, it can't be all that bad

But if Murray is still attached to the project, it can't be all that bad

At this point Murray is a bad joke himself. In reality this whole movies existence is probably credited to Murray trolling someone and it then getting turned into a real idea.

Faith in humanity gone :(
I was looking forward to this with the original cast 'passing the torch' to a new generation of Ghostbusters, but this plot, this cast? Im sorry but no. And they doing a reboot thats even worse :/
What happened to Dan Ankroids script? Im guessing that got trashed in favour of this version.
I wont be watching this at the cinema, and the stupid would be lucky if I downloaded it once it hit torrent sites either. I will give this one a clear, wide birth.

    • If you don't care to read what I said, then you prove my point. Maybe written media is beyond your attention span. Titles are not summaries my friend.
    • Nobody asked... in fact, I said "I don't care about political leanings"
    • TLDR. Here is a far better title (just a basic example): Windows 11 26H2 to allow disabling Web search results
    • Restore will get my vote, only if to see if things are any different, doubt it though but Labour and Conservatives too out of touch and same thing over and over and over…, Lib Dem who?
    • There is nothing wrong with this title. You have completely missed the plot when it comes to "clickbait." The issue was never that a title tries to entice you to click, that is how titles have worked for over 100 years. The issue is when the title subverts expectations, getting you to click expecting something that isn't there. The classic clickbait example is "Boyfriend caught cheating, what happens next will shock you," then what happened next is the girlfriend was upset...which is probably the least shocking outcome imaginable. If sounds like what you want is for the titles to be a collection of 10-word summaries that you can skim, get the just of the story, and only click if you want more details. That is not, never has been, and never will be what titles are. You can go all the way back to print newspapers during the great depression and see the same thing. The newspaper was locked in a vending machine, all you can see is the headline, you choose to put in 5¢ to buy the paper and read the rest if you want. Those headlines were written in a way to sell the paper, not just to provide a summery. Here are two actual headlines from that time, "Wall Street Lays an Egg," or "Stocks Hit Bottom?" Maybe you'd say something like "it was wrong then and it's still wrong now." Okay, fine opinion to have, but it isn't like Neowin is doing something unjurnalistic, they are just following the age-old standards for written media.
