Apparently Aykroyd is going to be a Executive Producer who is going to work closely with Feig on the script. He's also optimistic about an actual Ghostbusters 3 ... I guess take it for what it is.. with a grain of salt.

I remember I watched old cartoon called The Real Ghostbuster.... Janine Melnitz decided to help her Ghostbuster teams too, because she wanted to save them too.

She is most commonly been seen wearing a pink uniform when she was playing the part of a ghostbuster. She can be seen wearing a uniform in the following episodes:

Executive producers typically only get their name on the poster to add credibility to the movie, with little if any input outside of maybe getting to see some work in progress previews. and maybe a lunch date with the producer.

Not in this case, He said it himself he was going to work with Feig on the script in an interview.

Casting a male receptionist seems like a great move. It's basically flipping the dominant ideology on its head. If they add a relationship between him and an older woman it would be icing on the cake.

Still stupid blatant pandering

The movie can still be good, but they decided to do this latant pandering before they even started on a script, and then they make a script to fit their idea of pandering to this group... bah.

It's no more pandering than to have a male cast and a female receptionist, it's just that that is the established norm. Unless people challenge the status quo it will remain the same.

Except it is. especially when you consider who wrote the script for the original one. They just wrote a script. For this new one they first decided that they are going to have all female cast and a male receptionist and then wrote a script around that.

one isn't pandering the other is.

You can call it pandering, I can call it social progress.

You can call it pandering, I can call it social progress.

Social progress would be to make a story and let the story dictate casting, not dictate casting based on super feminism(no regular feminism isn't giving women more right then men or giving them quote jobs or stuff like that)  and then make the story based on casting dictated by that again. that's pandering.

Had the team been 50/50 (which is also stupid,  if it's 50/50 because of quota but anyway) then I could agree it would be progress, but it would only be progress if you assume the original movie was cast as all male because they thought women was weaker which wasn't at all the case. hence it's stupid pandering.

I like some of the cast at least so there's still a chance it'll be good, but I say the movie would have been better if the script would have been written without being forced into pandering to the SJW's and if the team had been mixed. The opportunity for interaction would be so much better then.

How do you know that isn't the case? I wasn't aware that the script had leaked.

At the end of the day we have countless movies that have had all male casts and women in supporting roles, so I don't see any problem with turning the tables. If this movie is 'super feminism' then every movie with an all male cast is 'super misogyny'.

Even if it is, it won't be the same without Egon  :(

If they wait to see the success of this one to make a 3rd it won't matter anyway they will all be dead. To say they are waiting is just nothing more than wishful thinking. To make this movie anyway as I said with the cast they have is a slap in the face to those that love the Ghostbuster movies. Tired of Hollywood ruining my childhood.

I'm not gonna go see it. I'll stick with the first two. I don't really care for reboots either except F13 2009.

This sounds more and more like Bridesmaids 2 with a few ghosts thrown in. Who's going to pay to watch that crap? Hell I wouldn't even waste my bandwidth torrenting it.

And when it fails commercially, which it will almost certainly do, perhaps Hollywood will get the message to leave identity politics out of movies. Though I won't hold my breath.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
