Yea, I found them, thanks.

Stupid uefi thing threw me a bit, thinking I had not installed them, but the drive was formated mbr and the bios was set to "both", so it wouldn't install, leaving me in a loop.....set it to legacy, and bingo...

Ok, so I'm currently transferring file from the old drive, to the new drive, and it seems to be working just fine like that.

 

Back in the day, we would use fdisk /mbr to repair the boot record thing, but I'm guessing that that's been replaced by "new and improved process....

 

But I have no idea what that is.

 

Thoughts..?? (bearing in mind that I am running 10/9926...

BootRec replaces fdisk for that now.

(The article says Windows 7 but the command is the same in 8/10 as well.)

Yups, that seemed to do the trick, it has booted up once again. Formatting it now, and I'll pass it down to my son, to be used as a storage drive.
