Load an album on the "album" section, by double clicking. Then go in cover player, let some tracks play, nothing else special to do. Only Dopamine, Edge and Outlook 2016 opened.
Another special request i could make is:

I use a Surface Pro 3 on Surface Docking Station. On the docking station i have a USB sound card (ASUS Xonar U7) with speakers and headphones plugged in.
When i change between headphones and speakers while playing a track in Dopamine, the playing tracks stops. Could you make possible to change source out without stopping the track?

Switching sound sources and having continuous playback is a Windows limitation sadly it does not work well at all.

Hi all, I just finished the Artists toggle. The result is attached. The context menu's have also been tweaked, mostly to fix some glitches.

That's all I wanted to add for the next public preview. I'll do some testing tomorrow and if all goes well, you can expect a new public preview tomorrow evening. I will also hopefully fix the playback interruptions some had. I think I know where it comes from, but I say "hopefully" because I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks, man!
I'm going to test it right away!
:D

Got a request for the artist view -> album view for a selected artist, any way to add a new sort that would be by release date?  I would like to be able to click on an artist and have the albums listed in order of when they were released instead of the one of the current options.

Thanks, great application and awesome support/communication via these forums.  Keep it up.

I join this request as what is asked is something i would like to see implemented if possible.

That coming.

Hey, Raphaël, I think you may want to have a look at this:https://insider.windows.com/?OCID=WIP_null_vanity_gracehopper2015_null

Sorry for the offtopic.

The link just points me to the main insider program site. Did it lose part of the link?

No mate, sorry. I got the wrong end of the stick because I had read it on my mobile while on the go. I thought they had created some sort of special Insider Program for developers to create universal apps.

Sorry for the misunderstading.

I have no idea how I could miss this thread. After being a Zune user I switched to foobar and I am intend on switching to Dopamine from now on, great work! Should I come up with any bugs I'll let you know. For now I have just one request: can you implement making columns smaller/bigger so one can fit for example more albums in the central column by making the artist/album artist column smaller or the track info column?

Thanks for the good work!

Additional comment: when playing from a networked source it takes quite long to get the track playing, Dopamine will also throw a quick "not responding" in the window before finally starting to play. I am talking 10 sec delay more or less. Foobar doesn't have the issue with the same track. (sorry for comparing but had to get a reference for you).

Another little request as the developpement of this beautiful software continues, is a mouseover tooltip on the track cursor in cover player mode to see the time elapsed in the track, please.

Approved!

No problem :)

I just noticed that I could seek artists faster by clicking on a letter header and then selecting the letter I want to jump to from the alphabet grid.  I'm pretty sure I requested that at some point, and it looks exactly how I envisioned it.  I'm not sure when you added that in, or maybe I forgot, but thank you!  It just gets better and better, and I no longer miss Winamp at all.

It has been there for a few builds already :) Glad you like it. I'm pretty happy with this too. But it was such a pain to implement  There is nothing in the .NET framework to properly do this. So it's all my own stuff.

You should add, that if you click off to the side..., it clears it, i.e. I changed my mind i don't want to sort/filter/change anything

Changing column size will probably come somewhat later. I had a hard time getting it right, so I chose the dynamic sizing for now.

I'll log a bug for the network problem. I haven't done any such tests yet. Thanks for reporting.

My files are on a NAS in a gigabit network, it works nearly flawlessly, little skips when i copy big files or lot of files through the network on the NAS, but it's not a real problem. Index time when i add files in my collection is correct.

Could be my network being over 200mb/s PLC network, the thing is then it would be for all players however both WMP and foobar play a track instantly when Dopamine takes additional seconds. But it is only when starting an album, all the her tracks after that first one will play without having any delay.

The skips when having the NAS perform additional taks are normal of course.

Using foobar2000 performs better on network files, not having skips during playback when i have a heavy use of the network. But Dopamine, for the moment, could be improved, but it does the task well.

Hi everyone. Small update on what I have been working on the last few days: the tagging dialog.

Tag that you changed are indicated by the accent color. Only the changed tags will be written to the file(s). Notice that when you select multiple files, you'll get a warning at the top. Also some tags will be marked as "Multiple values". Knowing that only changed tags will be applied, allows you to change some tags (album and genre are potential candidates) in batches.

Also notice the placeholder for the cover art. It will allow you to change the cover picture which is embedded in the file.

tagging2.png

Edit: the icon in the blue droplet is a placeholder. There will be a proper edit icon.

    • BATorrent 3.0.3 is out.
    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
