That looks awesome!

Thanks.

The tags in the screenshot above are the basic tags that I'll include. If there are any other tags which is useful to you: let me know.

I just noticed that I could seek artists faster by clicking on a letter header and then selecting the letter I want to jump to from the alphabet grid.  I'm pretty sure I requested that at some point, and it looks exactly how I envisioned it.

That was me :D and yes it looks awesome

Hey, I have a request.

The ability to browse the lib by Folders.

----> music

--------->Sub1

--------->Sub2

---------------->Sub2CD

I hope that kinda makes sense..... in other words i know where it is in the directory structure but is no one single file. song/ album.

I know this is what playlists are, but lets say i want to make a directory folder the playlist.

Tag editing, nice!
You could also add Album Artist, Total Tracks, Composer, Comment tags.

Is the "Information" icon a placeholder too? It seems like it is the same icon in your screenshots.
Any chance to test this beauty anytime soon, despite the fact that in my case i will not use this function very often as i buy and rip my CDs myself or buy music on platforms that i know the tags are correctly done?
But it will help on mistyped tags, everyone is perfect... :rofl:
Can't wait for the rating system :woot:.

I'll do that. I couldn't think of anything else for the information icon :rofl: But I know is very basic :).

I don't know how soon I'll be ready. For now it only displays tags. The saving part still has to be written.

Rating is next :)

Thanks.

Grouping and Comments? I save all my playlist info in them. #pop for pop songs #rock for rock songs, etc.

Haha yeah the "i" for information, i have no idea what you can use instead...

Good luck with the saving part!

ive been reading quite a few pages... can i get your media player on W10?  If so, how do I support your efforts?

Thanks.

Can you please make it a little wider and add a lyrics tag? I need a way (Any way, no matter how crappy it looks) to read lyrics on Dopamine so I can ditch my previous music player forever.

OK that's what I have right now. As for lyrics: that's coming later. I can look into it when basic tagging and rating is working.

For genres, I've replaced the combobox by a textbox, because it seems multiple genres can be put inside the "genre" tag by separating them with ";". The same goes for Artist and album artist. In a later stage I might provide a helper button or window which contains a list of the existing genres.

You can download it on my blog: http://raphaelgodart.tumblr.com/dopamine

Supporting my efforts can be done by donating. If you wish to do so, Dopamine will tell you how.

Has this been posted yet?  When I select a playlist and do a search in that playlist ... dopamine forgets to pull songs from the playlist afterward.  The next song in the playlist won't play, just the next song in my collection.

(edit: apparently you have to click on your search result too.  Selecting another playlist seems to fix the issue.)

The tag editor looks awesome by the way.

    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
    • Being on Github makes it more trustable since I can see the code at any point.
    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
