Just wanted to let everyone know who didn't get a change to sign up, I can see the link now:

https://connect.microsoft.com/office/Office%20Consumer%20Technical%20Preview

Remember, the product's current status is: NDA Non-Disclosure Agreement, so it is not open for chatting and sharing screenshots. Until then this thread should not be used to discuss topics about the products and features, except when another news source reports it.

What can Program Participants expect from Microsoft?

  • Early access to the next version of Office 365 Desktop (including Project and Visio if you are an active subscriber of these products)
  • Support for this program will be peer to peer via the Discussion group

What Are The Program Participation Requirements?

  • Participants will need an active Office 365 subscription
  • Participants will install and use the latest version of the product during the program
  • Participants will watch training webcasts, either live or recorded
  • Participants will complete surveys and provide feedback

However, Office Universal (touch-first) can be open for discussion!

I get a page not found :(

The original link https://connect.microsoft.com/directory/non-feedback works again now and I can sign-up, your link doesn't work for me though

Thanks for making me try again though :)

The original link http://www.office365,com - it DOES work.

(And yes - it works in Windows 8.1 - that's where my first install went.)

Feel the rainbow, Taste the rainbow!!

That is actually a new Office theme called Colorful. (Just the thing to wake up that dull-as-dishwater co-worker one cube over.)

I can't see most folks using it as an everyday theme - however, it does make for a good switch-up.

Anyway to force the original office preview to update to the latest one? I don't want to download a leaked one.

Join the preview version and download the officesetup file. Once you have that just select the update option and it should work.

I think Office 2016 desktop will eventually look like it's counterpart on Android and Windows 10:

Notice how the titlebar is colorful just like the current build of Office.

Why isn't Outlook orange?

Oh heavens no. Too much functionality appears to be removed from the Ribbon.

they changed outlook to blue in office 2013

I personally never understood the reason for the color change

Because Hotmail >> Outlook.com was Orange to Blue and the mail app on Windows 8 is blue.

    • never mind the video had a couple swear words... gosh it was funny!
    • It's expensive, but I bet it will still sell out just like the Steam Deck and the Steam Controller
    • This is listed as a preview in WU for me. I usually don't grab them as previews; what's your opinion on it so far?
