YouTube videos are not displaying in firefox due to them being http, rather than https.

Is this something that should be fixed by neowin, i.e. automatically converting all YouTube links to https, or is it down to the user to allow mixed content on the site?

I'm thinking the former.

Use the http version of Neowin.

The https version was only designed for the login page from what I remember being said in the https thread.

Oh right! Wasn't paying too much attention. I'm sure it'll have some whitelisting feature that will allow the normal http version. :)

that's only for normal members. Subscribers are able (and allowed) to use HTTPS site wide

p.s. I also experience this issue. judging by an earlier post it's most likely due to the iframes forcing the videos to load as http

i have a HTTPS everywere addon

i could not see any youtube videos for a few days until today.

today i can see all the youtube embed videos. so this bug seems fully fixed.

unlike the "likes" bug, which seems to be hit and miss.

it seems to work in some posts (all the older posts, and some of the newer)

I see. Well according to Earthworm it's working fine. Maybe forcing a refresh might do the trick.

Info about protection in FF:

Not sure there is a solution to be had on my end. It's behaving as it should, right?

Mr. Bond... Mr. Leg... Any input on this?

I mean the problem gets fixed for you...  I am not saying that you fix it...

Unless you use another browser to view videos.

    • Can you still click his nose in the about box?
    • In that case this product has no value to me. I'd rather use older Creative SB that were better in my opinion or onboard audio chip.
