North Korea Claims It Has Cure for MERS, Ebola and AIDS

North Korea says it has succeeded where the greatest minds in science have failed.

The authoritarian, impoverished nation better known for pursuing a nuclear program despite global criticism announced Friday it has a drug can prevent and cure MERS, Ebola, SARS and AIDS.

The secretive state did not provide proof, and the claim is likely to provoke widespread skepticism.

The official Korean Central News Agency said scientists developed Kumdang-2 from ginseng grown from fertilizer mixed with rare-earth elements. According to the pro-North Korea website Minjok Tongshin, the drug was originally produced in 1996.

"Malicious virus infections like SARS, Ebola and MERS are diseases that are related to immune systems, so they can be easily treated by Kumdang-2 injection drug, which is a strong immune reviver," KCNA said.

North Korea shut out foreign tourists for half a year with some of the world's strictest Ebola controls, even though no cases of the disease were reported anywhere near the country, before lifting the restrictions earlier this year.

It is believed to be struggling to combat diseases such as tuberculosis, and respiratory infections are among its most common causes of death, according to the World Health Organization.

North Korea trumpeted the same drug during deadly bird flu outbreaks in 2006 and 2013.

The North's claim comes as rival South Korea fights an outbreak of MERS that has killed two dozen people and sickened more than 160 since last month. There is no vaccine for the disease.

Right... Does the regular citizen of NK even understands what those diseases are? What are symptoms for example? Or do they get a minor flu and NK says they had Ebola and were cured by this miracle drug?

I wont believe it until fearless leader self infects with HIV then cures himself

Ha, coming from a country that wins every sports tournament ever.  Oh, and Kim Jong Un only shoots hole-in-ones.

Hey, they did win the last super bowl you know

Who can forget Kim Jongs half time performance.

he really nailed it with Katy Perry

so, I'm reading over their cure.... it's a three step process...

  1. Go to remote area and proceed to dig hole in ground aprox 6-8ft deep and 7 feet x 2 feet
  2. Lay in hole to prepare for vaccination
  3. Vaccination is administered through the skull or upper torso

It's hard to believe that a regime like this can be in existence in today's "modern world"........ :(

When you bomb a country so severely that you stop bombing it because there is not a single building left standing and then sanction its every import and export from the western world, what do you expect? That said, Kim can infect himself first and show the world it works.

But they do have miniaturized nukes and recently tested an SLBM (submarine launched ballistic missile.) Add a modern AIP diesel-electric sub, which is often quieter than a nuclear sub and not that hard to implement, and you have to pay close attention to them.

.., so they can be easily treated by Kumdang-2 injection drug, ..

... will be available across the globe in all good supermarkets. /s

curiously this "Kumdang-2 injection" are already available for sale at Alibaba: http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Kumdang-2-Injection_122906519.html

Must be NK's snake-oil thingy.

    • Limited Prime Day deal sees Amazon Echo Show 11 is at its lowest price yet by Ivan Jenic The Amazon Echo Show 11 is currently $149.99 on Amazon during Prime Day, down from $219.99. That's 32% off and $70 saved on Amazon's newest mid-size smart display (purchase link below). As its name suggests, the Echo Show 11 features a 11” Full-HD touchscreen, which is a decent upgrade over the Echo Show 8. It offers 60% more viewing area, which makes a genuine difference for recipes, calendars, video calls, or any other scenario where the smaller display can feel a bit cramped. The Show 11 is built around Alexa+, Amazon's more capable AI assistant that can handle natural conversation. You can make reservations, order groceries, and find content based on your preferences, instead of always having to give it precise commands. There’s also the Omnisense technology, which adds ambient awareness, allowing the device to trigger routines based on temperature, presence detection, or visual cues. Smart home control is built in without needing a separate hub, and the home screen doubles as a photo slideshow when not in use. Taking all of this into account, the Show 11 is a perfect smart addition to your kitchen counter or living room.
