1998 Chevy Blazer LS or 1998 Mitsubishi Montero

Recommended Posts

I need some help on this people. I need to get a new vehicle. I have two choices:

1998 Chevrolet Blazer Pickup Truck, 4 Cyl. Engine. 5 speed Manual transmission. AC, CD player. 60,000 miles.

1998 Mitsubishi Montero LS. 6 Cyl. Engine, automatic transmission, AC, AM/FM CD Radio. 116,000 miles.

Which one should I buy? They both cost the same. They aare both used of course.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

Please.

get the blazer. if you get automatic you will regret it in the end run. Plus... the milage is a given. Even tho the montero is a larger, more powerful engine, i would take the blazer over it anyday.

Go for the Blazer. Chevy products, at least in my experience, are reliable, and if they break down, the parts are very easy to find. The only thing that might stop you is the stick shift... Also, what's the price, if you don't mind my asking?

1998 Chevrolet Blazer Pickup Truck, 4 Cyl. Engine

No way thats a blazer. All modern Blazers come with a 4.3 vortec v6 standard.

The S10 pickups's come with 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl. I think it was listed wrong you should check it out.

I own a 98 Blazer LS and love it.

Guess i ran my mouth to soon.

1998

Blazer gets a nose job and an interior redesign.

New standard equipment includes a theft deterrent system, automatic headlight control, four-wheel disc brakes and dual airbags incorporating second-generation technology to reduce the bags' inflation force.

New radios, colors, and a column-mounted automatic shift selector round out the major changes.

Available engines included

a 118 HP / 130 TQ 2.2L SFI 4 cyl (Vin 4)

a 175 HP / 240 TQ (2wd), 180 HP / 240 TQ (4wd) 4.3L CSFI V6 (Vin W).

a 180 HP / 245 TQ (2wd), 190 HP / 250 TQ (4wd) 4.3L CSFI V6 (Vin X).

Though it was not an option when i bought mine.

IMO

blazer !

all the fast-n-furious movies in the world wont make a Mitsubishi fast, furious, or worth owning !

Mitsubishi has a nefarious history of buring recal notices and avoiding recals in general

and their cute advertiseing campaigns havent made me forget ..

personaly if you were going for a SUV model in that age group i would get an Exploder .. um i mean Explorer ;)

you should do some homework on explorers first though cuz there were some lemon years for them that you really dont want

but they do have a nicer interior and more useable room too...

YAY lets ghetto out a blazer

LoL, j/k its your car.. have a fun

as fer me, if i just wanted luxuy, i would go with a montero, if you plan on doing reasl work with it, get a blazer. Also, check out that milage, do you really want a car that has over 110k miles on it when you buy it. My car may be ghetto (93 escort lx wagon) but its only got 71k miles on it.

that poor, poor blazer.

anyway, get the blazer. if for no other reason than the milage. that alone is a no brainer. over 100,000? there's no way the person should be asking what they're asking for that. it's worth like 1200 bucks, max.
