Christopher Miller and Phil Lord to Helm Han Solo Anthology Film

The duo behind The LEGO Movie will direct an early tale of the smuggler-turned-hero, with a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.

The next adventure in the Anthology series of Star Wars films will be directed by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, whose credits include the critically acclaimed The LEGO Movie and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. Among the most sought-after filmmakers working today, the two have proven a formidable duo on the multiple films they

I just don't care at this point.  I'm sure others do but I'd much rather just get the new main trilogy and not bother with any of these side store flicks.  But I've always been that way with any show/series, heck I don't even like prequels personally.

I'm in a mixed mindset on this, on the one hand I'd love to see this, but then I'm thinking is it just going to be another cash cow for Disney?

There's nothing wrong with it being "just another cash cow for Disney" if it's good and keeps to the spirit of the other Star Wars movies.

They are a business after all and I don't begrudge them that as long as the movie's not ######.

I've got a bad feeling about this...the directors were fired (or left) during production.

The untitled Han Solo film will move forward with a directorial change.

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm.

“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project. We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew,” stated Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

The untitled Han Solo film remains scheduled for a May 2018 release.

Star Wars

No one is asking for these side movies, Disney should just make episode 8 and 9 and then see what comes after.  I have very little interest in a Han origin story prequel movie, just no.

Whereas others are quite keen for this, just as they were the fantastically successful Rogue One... Which I thoroughly enjoyed - more than Force Awakens.

Conjecture around backstories has existed since the end of A New Hope.

I tend to agree... though I would like to see a stand alone Darth Vader movie where he is kicking rebel scum while in his prime (like in the animated Rebels)... before James Earl Jones passes. Unfortunately, that will probably not happen. :(

Will have to wait for the Han Solo trailer ...

Maybe Dash Rendar will make an appearance.

I can't remember where or what, but something was saying how that whole "multimedia event" has basically been wiped now.  But hey, you know how Disney have thrown in the odd fan favourite.

Rogue One was more of a filler story that slotted nicely before episode 4, so it works better in that sense.  This movie though, it's way off on it's own by comparison.

me also, i found force awakens pretty rubbish tbh, rogue one was a lot better and actually had more feeling in it, except seeing Han croak it ofc, the rest, meh.

Ah apologies, I've not seen this film yet.

    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
