It is now officially called "Solo: A Star Wars Story" ... which surprised ... probably no one.

Ron Howard is a great director but I don't expect much out of this side story.   It'll make a pretty penny because it's star wars but I just don't feel excited for these "side projects", if you will.

I just watched the trailer. While I will still end up watching the film, what I saw above disappointed me.

No, I think this one has always been slated for May...as was Episode VIII (which obviously got pushed back).

I still think they should have used the guy on Age of Adaline who played a the Young Harison Ford... this was him doing an impression in 2008, they must have saw it and hired him.

Yeah, I have no idea how they passed him up.  The guy they chose looks and acts nothing like Harrison Ford.

I'm not getting my hopes high for this movie.  He can't be a hero.  He's an uncaring smuggler when we first meet him in "A New Hope".  

 

This movie just screams "Do do this".

Yeah, he sounds like he's Han Solo that hasn't hit puberty yet.  Also acts more like he's channeling Chris Pine's Kirk rather than Harrison Ford's Han Solo.  Only hope I have for this movie is Donald Glover's Lando.

Literally none of the mannerisms of Han from any of the movies come through in this trailer.  Han always was cocky but in a way that he knew he could back it up.  This is some dude who doesn't have that experience yet, so it just comes off as wrong.

I'm looking forward to this ... not putting everything on Alden Ehrenreich or expecting a perfect portrayal ... just expecting a good ol' movie.
