Is it too late to buy a PS2?

Recommended Posts

Alrite blubsh i didnt no it was tht big! Anyway i dnt really care i was jus givin the person my view. lol. Im fine with my ps2 at the mo. Have they released any info on the xbox 2?

xbox 2 will have ATI graphics card, and a powerpc chip designed by IBM specificly for the xbox.. all there really is so far on it.. (oh yeah, and some insider people are giving rumors that it will be a lot smaller then it is now, and still play xbox 1 games, even though the arch. of the processor is changeing...) im guessing there going to have a custom x86 instruction set built into the PPC chip to emulate the x86 xbox version better on the PPC version (that is if they actaully do go with PPC for the chip)

while your at it pick up a voodoo graphics card and pentium2

PS2 has had its day, why people buy old junk who knows

PS2 = HYPE

its all hype anyway, no good games, bad graphics and cheaply made

hehe.. i have a ps2 and xbox... after playing xbox for a year now, ps2's graphics look so blocky and crappy to me...

could easily say the same about the xbox apart from the graphics

idiot of the day.....

Damn!

The Guy asked if it was too late to get one!

Ignore the fanboys!

Just look at it this way, so far the PS2 has the best game YOU like, so you should get it!

And LiGhTfast fast, you claim that there is no good games for the PS2, but just from that statement you discredit yourself and prove that you biased and a true fanboy and quick look at your Avatar and sig comfirms it and not to mention constantly encourge not to get PS2 in other topics too!

If the Xbox has the Games you like Then Get the Xbox

If the PS2 has the Games you like Then Get the PS2

Simble as that!

PS.

the xbox has the better Graphics but its not so much better that as people are saying, they make seem as if it the PS1 vs Super Nintendo in Graphics!

totally agree with you there mate, i'm not a fanboy of either console, i think both are excellent, both offer a good line up of games (most of my taste being ps2 games)

it's more like comparing the ps1 to the n64

So wrong. Look, the PS2's graphics are old and dated, but it's not a hyped machine. It's a GOOD machine, but it's getting long in the tooth.

Um, the Xbox has the capability of outputting 1080i HDTV. So, in a sense, it does do better graphics. Unfortunately, most people are using composite (not component) cables so everything looks like crap no matter what system you own since it all has to come out as 480i.

Try Terminator 3 at 720p and tell me that the PS2 version looks just as good.

And, as always:

Ok, it depends on the games.

I just got some Component Cables for my PS2 today, and it makes a huge difference. I'd deffinatly get the component cables if you have HDTV or a TV with Component in. I don't have HDTV and it still makes a huge difference.

I know the Xbox has better Graphics i'm not denying that and belive me i like my xbox as much as my PS2, but i'm just pointing out that some people make seem as if there is Great between the two Graphics and only some Games support 1080i and on that list you provided about 3-4!

I like xbox and I will stick with it no matter what. Sometime I thought about getting ps2 but when I play my game on xbox I forget about ps2. That's just me I go for the graphic's and xbox live. It's your dicission in the end.

smartest comment i have heard in the thread ;)

sorry, but i was totally disapointed at the game, the story is so childish/girlish, i regret buying it, doesn't deserve the FF name to be honest

Same. it wasnt horrible, but it didnt live up to the name. It's lying on my shelf 30% done, right next to FF8.

Get the ps2. Final Fantasy X-2.

ffx2 is the most rediculous excuse for a final fantasy game i've ever seen. worse than ff11 :x

i hate the way square is going with them now, they used to be awesome, but now it seems final fantasy is going down the drain...

Oh, it's not THAT bad....it's just different. True that it's not a 'real' FF game, but.......

i was thinkin of getting a ps2 just for FFX and FFX-2.... but then i thought thats pretty silly... but I dunno.. I wanna play the games grrr

I'm getting PS2 just for the Square Enix games.

With FFXII and Kingdom Hearts 2 just around the corner and a possible FFVII-2, hell why not?

    • I must admit, this is probably the only game at the moment where I can see that $80 price point being ok. The issue will be when other developers think they can get away with it with half of the work.
    • Google Wallet expands TSA PreCheck Touchless ID access to more travellers by Fiza Ali Google has announced that Google Wallet is becoming the first digital wallet to integrate with TSA PreCheck Touchless ID. It is a programme that lets eligible travellers move through participating airport security checkpoints using facial recognition instead of showing a physical ID or boarding pass. While the TSA PreCheck Touchless ID programme has been available for some time, using it hasn't always been straightforward. The programme currently operates at 65 airports across the US, but participation has largely depended on flying with a limited number of airlines. Travellers also had to upload passport information separately through participating carriers. Now, the tech giant's new integration is designed to remove some of those extra steps. With the update rolling out in the coming weeks, travellers with TSA PreCheck membership will be able to enrol in Touchless ID through Google Wallet and use the service with any of the 100 airlines participating in the programme. Rather than repeatedly submitting identification details, users can store a digital ID in Google Wallet and use it to streamline future trips. Setting up the feature is relatively straightforward as well. The process starts with users creating a digital ID in Google Wallet using their passport information. After checking in for a flight and saving a boarding pass to the app, eligible travellers will see a "Get started" option that directs them to the TSA enrolment process. Once users choose to share their ID pass and boarding pass information with the TSA for a specific trip, the agency will verify the enrolment. If approved, a TSA PreCheck Touchless ID indicator will appear on the boarding pass stored in Google Wallet, signalling that the traveller can use designated express Touchless ID lanes at participating airports. As privacy and security are likely to be key considerations for many travellers, Google says users must explicitly opt in before any information is shared with the TSA, and authentication is required through a device PIN, pattern, or biometric verification. The company also notes that digital IDs stored in Google Wallet remain encrypted and are kept on the user's device. For frequent flyers who already use TSA PreCheck, the new integration could remove a few more steps from the airport security process, making travel slightly faster and a little less cumbersome.
    • Even though MS had to sunset the Windows Subsystem for Android, you can apparently use BlueStacks to run Android in Windows now. I haven't tested this yet, so if anyone has any feedback, I'd love to hear it.
