Is it too late to buy a PS2?

Recommended Posts

damn i hate you guys!

i was actually thinking of getting the ps2 system later in 2004 only because im in love with gt series but now u say xbox has waaaay better graphics and im a graphics freak. so now i cant decide what to get...

tbh the only thing thats keeping me buying a xbox is the lack of good games... i didnt really like halo (pc) and it feels crap playing a fps on a console.

splinter cell 2, well it will be out on the pc too

halo2 bah! fps on console not for me

Dead or Alive: Online, i wont be playing online games on my console (cant afford it lol)

im really into good rpgs and xbox have a huge lack of them. ps2 has great ones ff kingdom hearts etc and above all i would probably get ps2 for gt4 seriously i fell in love with that series... just the option of having 500+ cars to choose from is fantastic.

so overall i would still go for the ps2 (hope its waaay cheaper later in 2004) and most probably chip it lol (cant afford the games either) and get imports from canada (bro lives there). prices in the uk suck...

anyways peace guys

;)

If I didnt own a PS2 I would buy one simply for GT4, they are pushing the boundries again, and the graphics looke even nicer this time round!

The prolouge version is already out in Japan, and it looks damn nice!!!

Anyway, and only $140USD for a PS2 its the price you would pay for an ok graphics card, and some people spend that in a week on drugs and alcahol. So wat am i saying? - Dont do drugs do PS2, well dont do it, just buy it, then you can work on ur Playstation Tan all summer (or winter over there)

I hope you buddy :woot:

ffx2 is the most rediculous excuse for a final fantasy game i've ever seen. worse than ff11 :x

i hate the way square is going with them now, they used to be awesome, but now it seems final fantasy is going down the drain...

It's a very lighthearted game, but it gets VERY serious towards the end. I'm in chapter 5 now and I'm glad I didn't dismiss it as 'corny' because it's a very good sequel to FFX.

FFXI can't be compared to the others. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Although GT4 looks good for ps2 power, alot of it is fake apparently, pgr2 is so ****ing miles better. PS2 is all hype and I see no good games coming out for it, they still charge you alot for what it does. In comparison the Xbox is better and cheaper and comes with hdd and network in it. That should be enough to tell your senses right to buy an Xbox and also 90% of PS2 games come to Xbox so you wont be missing much not that there are many decent PS2 games much  . Xbox has a whole list of great games lined up for 2004 and dont see many for PS2, ah well enough of me talking :|

I own bought a ps2, and loved it, but I saw the xbox just sitting there, so I picked one up and the graphics blew me away. I started picking Xbox games over ps2 (if they were released on both) and still do it to the day. Wouldn't have it any other way. I still enjoy my ps2, don't get me wrong, but when I get a chance to use the xbox over it, I do.

and ...... the PS1 (the old one, not the PSOne) was very ****tly made and ... sowasthepstwo ... ok i'm stopping now

OMG you people dont even read befor you post do oyu?

Why are you recomending the Xbox? he already has one he only wants to know if he should get it!

IT is not PS2 vs Xbox! the guy wants to know if its not too late nothing more!

Yes! i say get if you can afford it, there many good games and the Graphic is not as bad they make it seem to be!

Here here! couldnt agree with you more! :D

Edit: btw you forgot devil may cry in your list ;)

We know he has the Xbox already, I am just simply saying he is wasting his money. Okya the games list of which you said are decent and out for ps2 is stupid because 3 off those are already out on Xbox and Manhunt is comfirmed to come for the Xbox. In your lists of current games for 2004, I will ststae which ones are coming to Xbox and not just PS2, StarCraft:Ghost , the developers are spedning more time on the Xbox version so it will be better. I don't like you sytated Colin Mcrae Rally 4 because well thats already out in Europe and has been for ages and out on Xbox. Hitman:Contracts is coming to Xbox, same with Pandora Tomorrow. We are getting Headhunter: Redemption also. Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay also. Conflict Vietnam. Getting Call of Duty :Finest Hour.Getting state of emergency 2.

To be honest none of the rest appeal to me apart Time Splitters 3. Die Hard Vendetta is crap. These games are nothing unlike what the Xbox will offer-

RPG's

B.C.

Fable

True Fantasy

Sudeki

Action Games

StarCraft: Ghost

Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tommorow

Ninja Gaiden

Shooters

Halo 2

Full Spectrum Warrior

Painkiller

Trinity

Adventure

Kameo

Conker: Live and Uncut

Fighters

Dead or Alive: Online

And that is just a small list of what the big games it has to offer.

You think PS2 is good, Buying a PS2 +Network Adapter + HDD would cost around ?200 here iirc compared to the just ?129 for the xbox. Stick with your Xbox and dont bother buying the PS2 imo .

How about you save that money you were going to waste on a tnt filled box, and buy a gaming machine. As in a computer.Trust me you'll have alot more fun on a PC than you'll ever have on a ps2, and or an xbox, because you can do alot lot, more.

Simple solution, pick up a cheap 2nd hand PS2 and get the games you want - initial oulay lower so it won't sting as much if you wanna upgrade to PSX or PS3.

I have an original PS - my first ever console and i have only had that for about 3 months (28 years old - how did i survive???)

Will probably get the PSX if it comes out in UK (price dependant) but only cause of massive back catalogue and HDD / DVD recorder built in.

way beyond decent i belive you know that too, just know why you are denying that?

And for the Reason for the PS2 prices, read my other post!

But like you said it appeal to one, btu i already have a xbox andthe game list you provided, most are out on PC or just suck like Halo!

Edited by MindTrickz
ps2 all the way; it is a true gaming machine unlike the x-box which is just a pc with aesthetics..

the ps3 will pwn over the xbox-2 too..

But it's job is to play games.

What is it with this silly, childish bias against the Xbox?

Then again, I'm dealing with someone that writes "pwn".
