Cortana is being a typical woman...she's moody and unresponsive :P

Hopefully someone can help with this because it's really annoying.

All the Cortana demos I've seen show her as being very responsive but when I try to use her it's very hit and miss whether she will respond to "Hey Cortana", even though I've turned my mic volume up full, I've disabled the exclusive option in recording mixer so no software is taking the mic over, I've also disabled the volume changing in comms settings on the volume control.

I did notice that when I'm trying to invoke her my recording volume is being automatically changed by some program, I've checked Steam and the voice volume change is disabled in that and I'm not running any other programs which use comms.

Anyone have any idea what might be changing the volume or any reason why she would not be picking me up properly?

 

I'm using a USB headset (Plantronics 780), I've installed the manufacturer's drivers for this (WIndows 8 version as no driver yet for WIndows 10) as these are needed for the 7.1 Dolby.

I don't know, but on my HP Envy and Surface Pro 3 Hey Cortana works really well. And on my PCs without mics, Cortana opens quickly when clicked.
