Hook ps2 wirelessly to wired router?

Recommended Posts

As the topic says, is there any way I could connect my ps2 wirelessly to a wired router? Like maybe have a piece that connects to the router into the LAN port and then has a wireless transmitter on it and then a wireless network adapter for the ps2 itself.

you might try adding a wireless card to your pc (or one of them that's connected to the router) and turning it into a repeater of sorts. Never tried it though. perhaps you could spend the 80 bucks it'd cost for the wireless router :)

I wouldn't mind doing it, but this is still my parents house and my dad is petrified of changing anything. He won't even update his XP pc to sp1, so yeah :(

I figured as much blizzard. Thanks anyways guys. I guess my net play on ps2 stays limited to the one room.

why wont he let you add the wireless access point? its no like you're replacing your current router. its just an add on that can sit somewhere next to it.

lol, if not next to I'm assuming you're running a cable from the router to your ps2 right? Just hook up the wireless access point there. Same effect. If he asks what it is, say its an add on for your PS2 ;)
