PM5K
I tried using bootpart to add linux to my boot menu. I chose the first linux partition *which is on a second drive that has linux only) and modified the boot, it now looks like this: [boot loader] timeout=3 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect C:="Microsoft Windows" D:Documents and SettingsBrianDesktopbootpa22Linux="Linux" The linux 512 byte file was made and everything seems right but the boot menu looks wrong, something like "Documents and SettingsBrianDesktopbootpa22Linux="Linux"" Or some part of the location of the file, and all it does is cause my system to reboot. I'd really like to get this working rather than lilo or something else, atm I just disconnect the master drive and set the slave to master to boot Linux, and that isn't exactly the best way. MxxCon
my recommendation is to boot to linux and then create linux boot disk. your boot up will take a bit longer, but you don't have to worry about lilo blowing out your windows bootrecords and other way around. any time you want to boot to linux just pop that flopppy in and reboot. PM5K
I'll ask this before I try, since I know I will have trouble, how do I make a boot disk ? I am running Mandrake 8.1 (or whatever is new)
Vlad
Try moving the linux boot loader from D:Documents and SettingsBrianDesktopbootpa22Linux to C:Linux.
