Alternative to Synlogy Surveillance Station

Does anyone know if there are any alternatives to Synology's "Surveillance Station" software? I was about to recommend one for a friend until I read the full specs. You only get a license for 2 IPCams with the unit - any more and you need to buy a license. IMO a licence for 2 is to small, I would have expected possibly 4.

 

Either way, 2 licences will not be enough so I was wondering if anyone knows of any alternatives to Surveillance Station. Just to clarify I don't want an alternative to a Synology NAS - it is ideal for what is required from it, I am after an alternative to the IPCam software. I know you can download "Packages" to add features but not owning one its proving difficult to search for options.
