Problem with Microsoft bluetooth keyboard with Remote desktop app on Windows Phone 10

Recommended Posts

Got my new Lumia 950xl and the Microsoft universal foldable bluetooth keyboard recently. The keyboard works fine generally, e.g. type emails, one notes and enter URL or fill forms in browser. However it doesn't work with Remote Desktop connection, whenever a remote session is connected I can't type anything to the remote computer, can't even bring up the soft on-screen keyboard, since a external keyboard is connected.

Does anyone here has got the same issue, or knowing a work around, please share some info, many thanks.

I did not see this on the front page.

A recent article by former Neowin author John Callaham discusses some of the design decisions Microsoft has made with Windows 10 for phones. Callaham cites a recent Reddit session where a former Microsoft employee anonymously shares some of the thoughts that the company had during the operating system's design process

You can't send a message in iMessage using a bluetooth keyboard, you have to lean over and hit the send button! For a company that claims everything "just works," this is a serious oversight imo.
I'd be grateful if everybody could submit feedback to Apple here requesting this feature -
